Introducing the Pax Inter Astra Movement

  • This isn't a squadron. It is a movement to better the galaxy after the Titans. The movement is composed of unaffiliated CMDRs and signatory squadrons.
  • "Pax Inter Astra" is a Latin phrase that means "Peace Among the Stars". The name is to highlight the lofty goals of the movement.
  • Whilst the movement is being primarily sponsored by The Allied Order of Exemplars/A.O.E. Allied Order of Exemplars it will be maintained jointly by several squadrons who back an agenda of de-escalation to ensure human survival. Pax Inter Astra has it's origins based on the teachings of the Revised Catholic Mission of Aymiay on Cooperworld. It is further based on research of Dr. Joreb Innitu. The leader of the Revised Catholic Mission is former Federal President Eugene Cooper. Unofficially everything has been running through the Alliance. We have a research facility in the Pleiades named Cooper Research Centre at HIP 19072. This is one of many such facilities spread across the entirety of the Bubble and beyond.
  • We do not discriminate based on superpower affiliation or lack thereof because we exist above them. Cooperation is the key to the future.
  • The only requirement is everything must be done ethically. Minimization of harm and long-term survival are the goals.
  • If interested, please fill out the interest form and we will be reaching out interested CMDRs and squadrons.

    -----
    Goals:
  • Betterment of all life.
  • Understand the true nature of the Thargoids: Humanity has put more effort into shooting Thargoids than understanding them. This has resulted in much unnecessary suffering. This includes history, technology, and culture.
  • Understanding the actual timeline of events. GCS Saravasti suggests Thargoids never actually left (the logs are dated 3172). Given Lave is a dictatorship (thus putting events likely 3174 or later) this would explain Thargoids being present. This is some 23 years after the supposed retreat.
  • Understand their culture, technology, language, etc. This will all be for naught if we cannot understand where each other is coming from.
  • Do origins of current conflict have origins millions of years prior?
  • Did the Guardian/Thargoid conflict alter the dynamics of peace?
  • Who are the Oresrians? What are their motives?
  • Who are the Klaxxians? What are their motives?

How we operate:
  • Our primary purpose is betterment of all life in the Milky Way Galaxy and beyond.
  • Ethically guided research
  • Protect humanity and life-bearing worlds
  • Foster an environment where at minimum coexistence is possible.
  • Work towards open communication between species where possible.
  • Transparency and open access in research
  • Cooperation and collaboration between individual CMDRs and signatory squadrons.

Pillars of the Pax Inter Astra/De-escalation Agenda:
  • Astrobiology Research
  • Xeno-cultural Research
  • Xeno-linguistics Research
  • Xeno-archeology Research
  • Technology Research
  • Human rescue operations when warranted
  • Logistics and Supplies support (Human Bubble)
  • Logistics and Supplies support (Colonia)
  • Deep Space Logistics (colonization and evacuation)
  • Science advisory board to the superpowers

Participation options:
  • Individual CMDR (unaffiliated with a squadron)
    • REQUIRES INARA profile w/ rank details available
    • If a CMDR opts not to use 3rd-party applications the data can be instead pulled directly from Frontier: https://inara.cz/elite/frontierconnect/ .
  • Individual CMDR (maintaining a squadron membership)
    • REQUIRES INARA profile and discussion of conflicts of interest, AX activities, etc.
    • If a CMDR opts not to use 3rd-party applications the data can be instead pulled directly from Frontier: https://inara.cz/elite/frontierconnect/ .
  • Squadron-level affiliation

If you fill out the form, please respond to thread to ensure someone reaches out promptly. Additionally, this is designed to be flexible. The goal is an ethical path forward in the post-Titan era.

I am working on putting together a proper discord to coordinate the varying types of efforts for research, logistics, and further story developments. Just on research and logistics fronts there is more than ample areas to keep active game-play loops.

I’m going to keep an eye on this. All I can say to it for now. But, seems like a good initiative to have/take.
For the record, I fully intend to run with this if the initial response is lackluster. I suspect some may wait to commit until they see where the story goes next. There will be updates and a discord is going to be put together for coordination and tracking purposes at minimum. We have enough with the current lore. Yes, in Elite Dangerous, we are told Dr. Joreb Innitu is killed in a shuttle accident after a symposium in Alioth. This however, means that his research is canonical.

I definitely want to see where the Titan story is going first. I’m still hoping for some kind of more visible or meaningful interaction to be possible in the future, but I’m not really sure I’m that much of the ‘researching’ type as opposed to… more practical application of that research.

Hence, keeping an eye on things until the next story step(s) become/-s apparent.

Here's to hoping the Spire sites become functional ports for the aliens complete with trade and such. This is from the first manual.

Yeah, at the very least something will probably happen or be done with the spires. I doubt they're just... going to sit there being useless for anything other than looking at those things. At the current rate there might even be some Titans left by the time the powerplay update arrives (whether that is actually the intention of Frontier is another - the story will tell).

If I was convinced that there will be something non-hostile to do with Thargoids beyond research or the current primitive 'donation' interaction...

I would like to get involved in this ... but I don't think Frontier will consider anything other than more Thargoid killing. There's been calls for some type of Thargoid peace movement/communication since the very earliest days, and some extremely interesting attempts at it by the community, but totally unsupported and unrewarded by Fdev.

Fact is that a lot of players have put a lot of time into killing Thargoids really well, which has been heavily supported by Fdev by (at minimum) offering huge payouts for killing Thargoids. On the flip side Fdev have shown a very, very strong unwillingness to give us any other tools than more guns - even 'science' is done by aggressively collecting flesh samples, and it's always ultimately aimed at killing more Thargoids.

The 'peace ship' that was destroyed by Taranis on approach seems to have been Fdev's way of saying "no, only war".

There have been hints in the lore and occasionally in-game that the Thargoids aren't a Planet of Hats, but so far it doesn't seem to really go anywhere.

On another note - there are more aliens out there than Thargoids, and there's almost nothing known about them. This urge to discover and make contact would be better spent on the Raxxlans, IMO.

Opinions also strongly likely to differ on that one, because I know one species is there and the other is at best part of the same myth that Raxxla itself is. Also probably doesn’t want to be found if they do exist. Do you think the way we’ve interacted with Thargoids makes other alien species look at us and say “Yeah, we wanna talk to those guys”?

Within (light) RP that is. The lore, pff, I don’t even know. Myself, anyway. And I have basically zero interest in the whole Raxxla supposition anyhow, unless someone does find out that it’s a gateway between universes…

… and even then, we have enough on our hands in our own, so whatever I would do in another.

I was looking at the Thargoid Communication codex and I have some trusted folks checking leads. It appears FDev left us several leads on communication.

For now, follow the thread. I am actively working on getting a discord up for this endeavor.

To kick things off, will be doing a trip to Temple region in approximately mid to late May. Target region will be Guardian sites in the area and map some of the nebulas. I plan to outfit [A.O.E.] Dharmachakra with exploration specific module and a way manage ships parked at the carrier. More info coming soon on specific route, timeframe, and any suggestions for ships interested in coming along.

Technical issues regarding on-boarding have been resolved. Sorry, first time really doing proper administration of a discord. I know several people have responded to the survey. Those invites will be going out to folks. Due to mods assigning roles when you first join it will look sparse. Once roles are granted it opens up the server significantly.
