Honestly, we probably need to be having that kind of conversation. I was kind of waiting to see what form of chaos comes next based upon what is hopefully revealed by Seo Jin-ae. I suspect were the Bubble to actually be invaded by a more malevolent enemy, there might be efforts to get de-centralized safe havens established. Humans have a good start with DSSA and STAR carriers. Though, I suspect some of more heavily peace-aligned groups would love nothing more than finding a quiet corner of some region with nebulas and good planets and setup base camps.

Additionally, this may open up the very real possibility of long-term studies of specific regions along with regional bases. Honestly, having deep space colonies which are purpose-built for various needs would be amazing.

Based on what little we've heard, building into deep space would be possible but require chaining through systems (each of which require their primary starport to be completed), likely making it something of a long-term endeavor.

It also depends on the range as - again, based on the stream's little tidbits - a populated system is required to launch a colonization attempt. I can see the Colonia Bridge serving as many a starting point for people to go out to spots in deep space which they'd like to have a station in... if it ends up being eligible for such attempts, of course.

... and I don't think we are through with the Thargoids yet, but it remains to be seen if their counterattack (a strange wording by Aegis to call it a "retaliation" months earlier) is launched while Cocijo remains active, or after. I am suspecting they have shifted from keeping their Titans intact - if that ever was the intention - to simply getting as much out of their capabilities as possible until destroyed by humans, while they've been using them and their spires to build up a large fleet (likely significantly larger than even the one that struck Shinrarta) that lies in wait, until the moment to strike. And I have a feeling that moment is coming soon, when humans are already acting as though the war is over, and the Thargoids will not be a problem from here.

It is almost like they are trying to make history repeat itself.

It would be worth discussing among those interested in maintaining peaceful coexistence with our galactic neighbours how - if at all - to be ethical and responsible colonists. We've seen time and again throughout human history - both as a planet bound species, and again as a space faring species - how unchecked colonial expansion can lead to conflict, war and all of the horrors that go along with it. Do we try to persuade those who wish to expand their territories to avoid systems which have current or historical Thargoid or Guardian (or otherwise) populations? Systems with Thargoid or Guardian Relics? I'm sorry to come to the committee bringing questions and no suggested answers, but I believe - like Cmdr Miseri says - that now is the time to discuss. I also believe - like Cmdr Goto says - that we are not done with the Thargoids, nor that they are done with us.
