News IPv6 Support

This? https://tunnelbroker.net/ from https://www.opendns.com/about/innovations/ipv6/ and checks with http://www.kame.net/

I'm not so sure IPv6 is fully functional on SKY. Their forum is up to date about not allowing access to change to the Open DNS Server. Do I need this or is this just for their FamilyShield Filter for all devices within your home?
http://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Broadband/Change-DNS-server-settings/td-p/9311/page/9

Does SKY have it's own DNS Server?
I need to call them anyways to install updates pending since 2014.
Seems the only workaround (if I need to do this) would be to add another DSL (not ADSL) Router to the SKY HUB and disable its Wifi. I have no family so FamilyShield is not my needs. I'd simply like to access the instant speed of IPv6.

Bingo :)

Your IPv4 address on the public Internet appears to be x.xxx.xxx.xxx

Your IPv6 address on the public Internet appears to be vvvv:vvv:vvvv:vvv:vvvv:vvvv:vvvv:vvvv

Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) appears to be BSKYB-BROADBAND-AS , GB

Since you have IPv6, we are including a tab that shows how well you can reach other IPv6 sites. [more info]

Good news! Your current configuration will continue to work as web sites enable IPv6.

Your DNS server (possibly run by your ISP) appears to have IPv6 Internet access.

Repped 'cos you seem to have helped others get set up. Seems my router doesn't support managed tunnels and I still can't see the turtle :(

...on the other hand, my new router arrives tomorrow, so we shall see...

EDIT: Is that the time? I should say my new router arrives today!

EDIT to the EDIT: New router installed and working. IPv6 up and running :D

Looks like my provider supports and runs IPv6. Good news...or whatever. I'm not that good with all the network business.
Visited few websites that test connection, and they indicate I run IPv6.

Getting an IPv6 Tunnel is pretty easy with Hurricane Electric, if you have an old PC laying around and a couple of NIC's you can build and amazing router that will handle more traffic & features than anything that consumer grade, take a look at PfSense. Here is a link on the step by step how to.

https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Using_IPv6_with_a_Tunnel_Broker

H.E. Also have an amazing IPv6 training course, highly recommend it to anyone interested.

P.S. i am not affiliated with H.E., I just buy internet transit of them and highly recommend giving it a try.

BT Infinity here. My area does have IPv6. I can tell you that Elite definitely runs much better when I disable it on the router or the network adaptor.

Annoyingly, many other games and things work better with it on - notably Star Wars: Battlefront.

IPv6 in Elite would therefore be a definite boon.

Only with Elite IPv6 option comes out today in BETA 2.3

Now if only virgin media supported ipv6..

Sounds good, especially the connection stats. Hopefully it will get to the bottom of some of the persistent problems.

Virgin Media is supposed to be rolling it out in summer 2017!!

New hub I just got supports it

Thanks Frontier ...

You made me enable ipv6 now .... I feel dirty already!

However on the plus side my Xbox is now connected the proper way to XBL.

Just moved house and actually have internet now!

Yay!

BT IPv6
I spoke to BT yesterday to try and find out why there's no IPv6 address being given to me and was told categorically that IPv6 was only available to business customers. Any of you out there with it working are therefor imagining things, clearly 😀

There's a new network settings dialog, accessed via the Main Menu's Options.

Jesus Christ it's only taken you guys 2+ years to put up a network connection tab to help people.

Given that this is a P2P game (and not your usual P2S) I am surprised it took this long ...

About [expletive] time ...!

yeah but the netcode dont work for the new beta - move back quick :)

Changing any settings would require me knowing what I was doing, which I don't.

It will remain as is until something automatic happens 8)

Probably what they mean is that they don't provide any support on it for non business customers. However there are plenty people on here who say it's working for them.

Bit off topic but anyway,

Could anyone shed some light on why my download speeds with ipv6 is a bit slower than when using ipv4. Testing to the same server, ipv4=237Mbit but ipv6=233Mbit sec. Tested multiple times

The packet header (containing delivery address etc) in IPv6 is 20 bytes bigger than in IPv4. Max packet size is 1500 bytes. So it will be at least 1.3% slower.
