But on the first day as well; White Nosed Coati! :D an animal that many people really seem to desire in PZ, I don't blame them :)

There was no shortage of frogs either, a familiar face from PZ and one of the most recognizable frogs; The red eyed tree frog! :)
1701883687402.png

Another exciting encounter; the Hoffman two-toed sloth :)
1701883722454.png

Another bird, not everyone of the group I was with managed to see it, The Sunbittern :)
1701883747004.png

Green iguanas at the iguana bridge, another PZ critter :)
1701883774055.png

Our guide brought us to a place where there we're plenty of Boat billed heron, another exciting species!

Some more encounters;

The largest and most exciting species of toucan(to me) and encountered, the Keel-billed toucan :) ;
1701884022622.png

After a long struggle, eventually found the Brown throated sloth as well :D
1701884105490.png

American crocodile at the Tarcoles river :O :)
1701884372805.png

Not hard to spot on almost every coast of CR, Brown Pelican, none the less, my first wild pelicans :)

Another common sights, Magnificent Frigatebirds :)
1701884528244.png

Plenty of parrots too, but the absolute highlight; Scarlet macaws :)
1701884653590-png.376866

Basically every morning we we're greeted with the song of the Howler monkey :)
1701884812661.png

In the mountains, we managed to encounter the Resplendant quetzal :)

Finally managed to get a successful outing to the Scottish Highlands to see the ever exciting red deer. Today roughly around 100 red deer were seen grazing throughout the valleys which is a wonderful sight.

There is also a near guaranteed sighting of a red deer in the torridon mountains, say hello to Callum the Stag. Yes it has a name, callum is used to humans, he hangs around this car park waiting to be fed by unassuming hikers, tourists or locals who keep feeding him.

Absolutely incredible! Keep on sharing.

Here are my only experiences I've photographed.
First is a little black-capped chickadee
View attachment 376920
Second, a long tailed weasel I befriended
View attachment 376921View attachment 376922
Third, A bald eagle on an Apostle Islands Boat Cruise
View attachment 376923
And finally, A wolf pack from a distance
View attachment 376924
Wow, you get some really cool wildlife in the Midwest. Maybe I’ll go someday.

I’ve never seen a wild weasel, even though I’m pretty sure we have them.

That wolf picture slaps! Where did you happen upon a wolf pack, how did that went down?
I saw them when I was on a trip to northern minnesota, I saw them on a hiking trail in the Finland State Forest (Don't remember what trail). The wolves stopped and studied me for a few minutes, and then turned and left.

Just scrolled through this topic, so much Australia xD :D stop it! I just can't! can't handle it(JK, please continue :) ;) ), I wanna travel to Australia one day! And spot some wildlife. I've seen a trip to Australia bringing me to a lot of places, anything particular that is a good place? Some of the highlights I've seen here and that we're in the group tour were like; Kakadu, Daintree, cape tribulation

Haha, ironically enough my next post in this thread is going to be my first outside Australia given I'm going on a short cruise with the family next week that will stop over in New Caledonia and Vanuatu. Probably won't be too much opportunity for wildlife watching (definitely want to properly explore both places in the future) but I'd be happy with just seeing some common Melanesian birds and hopefully a sea snake or two!

Australia is pretty big so it really depends on what you want to see (what species you're after, environments you want to see etc). If you're only visiting for a short period of time then biodiversity hotspots like north-east Queensland, Kakadu, south-western Western Australia or Tasmania would likely be favourable but really there's a lot of wildlife to be seen everywhere, and if you've got the time and finances for it then travelling around over a longer period of time is definitely the way to go. Feel free to ask me if you've got questions regarding particular locations or places to see certain species!

Well the group travel I have seen which interests me the most is around 28 days. Off course there is also a day of traveling back and forth. I just want to see as much as nature and wildlife as possible. I start in Sydney, from there Blue mountains, bathurst, Abercrombie, Canberra, Beechworth, Melbourne(Gonna do a Phillip Island boat trip there for sure!), Great Ocean Road, Warrnambool, Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve, Robe, Adelaide(1 free day in Adelaide as well), Barossa Valley, Quorn, Flinders Ranges national park, Port Augusta, Coober Pedy, Kings Canyon, Uluru(off course xD) Alice Springs, flight to Darwin, from Darwin, Kakadu national park, Litchfield national park, flight to Cairns, Cape Tribulation, 2 free days in Cairns(1 of which I'm gonna try and plan a snorkeling trip to the Great Barrier reef) and perhaps I wanna try and visit Atherton Tablelands. I think pretty solid :)

That definitely sounds like a great coverage of places, especially for a month! Should be lots to see in all of those locations.

What species of deer was Callum? I don’t know my Scottish deer species well.
