Is anyone else finding themselves playing the game much less since Arx came in?

Exactly. I would be too busy enjoying the new game: trying to understand the game mechanics, and loving every moment of it! THAT would be normal behaviour imo, but then again I have never been much of a whinger - it's such a waste of time and energy!

You have it all wrong. Look at the experts here, you have to hound this forum, comment on every thread on how is 'other' game is so much better the ED, how it is so much more immersive, so much more entertaining, how the maker of that game is doing everything the FD isn't. In fact if you do it right you can spend all your time on the forum here - which kinda makes your claim of playing this other wonderful game rather meaningless doesn't it

:D

Funny on my side of the reality, healthcare is regulated by government administrations and having a quality system entirely dedicated to assessing customers complaints is pretty much a law you need to comply to if you want to stay open.

Not that it's relevant in the current thread neither. We both bought a game sold as a service with a life cycle directly related to player retention. Bad analogies are bad.
We both bought a game. Like it? Keep playing. Don't like it? Buy another game (or better yet, go do something more useful with your life...). It is actually that simple!

ARX hasn't changed much for me. I'm mainly waiting for new content to arrive, having been through most of what Elite has to offer. Playing other games these days, working on my Steam backlog.

Maybe they can't move on because there's no end to the game. If fdev just added a 'Game Over' screen once you hit Elite, maybe add a scrolling list of the programmers etc, then the forum undead could move on knowing they 'finished' the game. They can only 'win' if they outlast the game - hence the constant questioning of 'iz the game ded yet?' - it's the only way they can be free - poor things.

I like the game. I just find people rejoicing over people leaving it pretty toxic.
We only rejoice when serial forum moaners leave. It's like pus draining from a wound, allowing the forum to heal. If the pus is not drained, the forum will go septic and die, which wouldn't be good for the forum, or us forumites!

Nah, I can see the comments now "FD Sucks, it took me 4,589 hours to get to Triple Elite and finished it - what a cheap game, didn't get anything out of it"

Same as with forum really. The more people leaving, the more We can bask in a glorious echo chamber. Having an empty volume and only one voice in the center. Perfection.

If grinding arx is a problem. Try playing the game.
Please close and lock this inane thread.

Unfortunately some people (like you) have decided this thread is supposed to be about the value of Arx or the need to grind for Arx:

It isn't.

I created the thread as I was interested to see if other people had experienced a cooling-off from the game since the Arx thing landed. As I indicated, I think this is just a psychological effect on me at having the game provide an assessment / evaluation of my activity. This has nothing to do with the value of Arx and how can I earn more Arx (I hit my weekly limit in a couple of days) and have just experienced gradual reduction in desire to load the game. To me the issue is just that (no matter what the figure is) there on the screen is a little message telling me what the game thinks of what I was up to. ;)

I have a problem accepting any figure in the insurance claims stat too - I clear save on rebuy - so I think the psychological effect is indeed my issue.

No doubt the mood will change and I will soon be back to playing every day again.

Anywayup - since it seems to be just me and since various tangents keep appearing I shall ask a mod to close the thread. Thanks to all who posted.
