Is anyone still Xeno-Friendly? If so why?

I get that you think all out war with the Thargoids is inevitable, but I view it more like a new super-power, power play type political thing. Hopefully in the future we can interact with Thargoids in economically significant ways. That makes them more like Empire vs Fed, some said war is inevitable, and absent an "ALIEN THREAT DURRR" there would be a cold war anywho. Yet not everyone sides with either, or refuses to do business with either.

What I don't get is all the Commanders who don't think humans are aggressive enough for the Thargoids to be retaliating, rather than invading.

The Thargoids are attacking stations that have aegis labs this is correct, but they are essentially targeting the only means of us defending ourselves against them. They are attempting to disarm us. Killing thousands of innocent people at those stations. They are at war with humanity plain and simple. They may view those innocent people as collateral damage but that does not excuse their actions. They are abducting people at those USS’s. Do you think that once they have destroyed all the aegis stations that they will just say ok we’re done attacking? I personally believe that once they have disarmed us that they will then start a full scale invasion. Do not deluded yourself into thinking they mean no harm. Their actions have clearly stated the contrary.

Don't worry. If that is really the case we're already one step ahead, having Ram Tah's guardian weapons to deal with the Thargoids. No need for the Aegis stuff anymore. Either way, I'm still neutral, I have yet to even see one of them. I'm not going out of my way just to do so.

I'm still xeno friendly and have been since our first glimpse of alien life (never shot a barnacle, etc.). I've been pretty disappointed with the story so far, and would have loved to see more variety of options to interact with them. Now with the recent addition of newer guardian logs that mention their war with Thargoids, some people are using that as the final nail in the coffin as proof the Thargoids ill will.

Regarding the Ram Tah logs, I would argue that history is written by the victor. We know the Guardians already had split factions amongst themselves and they tried to make contact with the Thargoids. However, I would say it's entirely possible that after all was said and done, historians chose to make it sound like they were the victim instead of the aggressor, as humans are currently trying to spin the same. Further, Ram Tah is the one doing the decoding of the messages, for all we know he is also rewriting some of the history.

Finally, I'd like to believe that FDev has a better story development team than a simple "alien bad, smash alien" plotline. Plus they took my money for the damn xeno ally decals so they better develop that side of the story! No religious xenofanatics or anything mentioned in galnet, so many options to write an interesting narrative.

Anyways, don't plan to shoot any Thargoids still and don't trust Aegis one bit. Hope fdev doesn't let us down!

I’m pro-Guardian and anti-Thargoid. Sure, I blow up Sentinels, but I take no pleasure in it, and diligently collect their remains for use in Guardian weapons.

Thargoids are kill-on-sight for me. I don’t care if they’re Orersians or Klaxxians, either way they’ve killed tens of thousands of unarmed civilians. I don’t care what their motives were or whether or not they can perceptualize the fact that killing civilians is uncool. I’ll kill as many bugs as I can.

I doubt the Guardians were really any better, and their end suggests massive short-sightedness. The "friendly" Thargoids at least have only attacked Aegis stations, and even then only disabled them. If they truly only wanted to kill they'd have finished off the station reactors and obliterated everything in and around them.

Anything that kills the planet destroying virus that is humanity is good in my book.
My anaconda "give quiche a chance"* proudly displays the xeno friendly decal.

*"The Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society" had too many characters and the abbreviation was not allowed.

Compare the aggressive response of Guardian sentinels to the passiveness of most Thargoids. My bet is that we’ll need the Thargoids when the real bad guys turn up.

Have you met the goid scouts yet? The Guardians tried to make peace with the goids but they were having none of it.

I'm a xeno ally. I want them to cause as much chaos and catastrophe as possible!

Sure a few thargoids have hyperdicted me (but didn't do anything other than scan me and move on), and I saw some others that had attacked federal and imperial vessels, but I'm sure they had it coming. Who cares if a few starbases get hit? We're like ants to the thargoids. They're stepping on us because they don't understand that we're sentient (questionable).

As long as they attack AEGIS stations, I won't fight the Thargoïds. The minute they attack any other station, I'll fight back. I'm still not convinced we are facing the really hostile Thargoïds yet. Time will tell.

Not that I believe it will make a lot of difference : I don't think our actions can change the (vague) story line FD is (painfully) trying to shoehorn in our pew-pew-only game mechanics.

Neutral at the moment, I leave them along (apart from a few tissue samples) and they leave me alone.

Won't get involved until they hit Lave, maybe Sol, possibly Shinrarta.

I am... was... would be. The problem is, and always was, that there's nothing to DO with them. I can't communicate with them, I can't even scan them, so there's nothing to do. I might try shooting at them, since that's apparently the only thing we're supposed to do, but that's not really possible either because they're either unassailable juggernauts, or armadas of ships all so powerful that there's no way to fight them (unless you're part of a gigantic wing or have been grinding the specific gear for the specific build of the specific ships... which is boring as hell).

I occasionally go into the threat 5 signals to try and talk to them, but there's no way to do that.

They've done nothing to me personally other than a couple of event-free hyperdictions and some aggressive scanning when I've dropped into their signal sources and made off with stuff. Unless what I'm hearing is Fake News™ we started this skirmish and they're only retaliating against Aegis. Yes, there's been civilian collateral damage but the civilian population doesn't seem to be their primary target. I would like to know what they're doing with the escape pods, and if we confirm it's something nefarious I'll strap on the AX without a second thought. But they could be collecting samples of what they believe to be an endangered species for all we know.

Unless they're radically short of numbers their advanced tech suggests they could wipe us all out overnight if they wanted to. The fact that they haven't gives me pause. Whatever their end game is we don't yet know. Delay may prove our downfall, but I'd sooner that than partake in what history may record as a premature xenocide.

Having said all that, I did once shoot at UAs near a crashed Thargoid ship to gain some meta alloys and the agonised noise it made was so soul curdling that I instantly regretted my impatience. We don't fully understand this organic tech. If the Thargoids turn aggressive, and it transpires I shot one of their babies or something, I deserve everything I get.
