Is anyone still Xeno-Friendly? If so why?

Have you met the goid scouts yet? The Guardians tried to make peace with the goids but they were having none of it.

The Scouts are a response to our actions.
Remember that the victors write the histories and it’s the Guardian’s version of events that we’re seeing. Or not in my case - stupid bugs in the mission.

I still think that they are barely aware of our existance. Its particular materials that they react to.

I keep surpressing the quote "Giants in the playground". I also wonder if they understand our language and are just not willing to communicate to us in it ;)

No because frontier haven't given us any plot to continue to be.

So my experience with thargoids is watching other players on YouTube.

Even if you stop being bitter about it, you can never shake the truth that humanity does suck, sorry.

We attacked first and yet the 'goids are somehow the bad guys......

Also I get feeling the powers that be are actively trying to stop open dialogue with the 'goids. Think my time is better spent finding out what those in charge are hiding, rather than chasing after false threats....

If you believe your history, then the Thargoids shot first, many years ago. Of course, we wrote that history....

No need to sugarcoat it. Not merely "the powers that be", but the government of the Federation. It's no accident that it all started with wrecked Federation fleets - they attacked and the Thargoids defended themselves, until the latter decided they had enough...

Pretty certain a dev went on record to say that the old games aren't cannon, but correct me if I'm wrong.

As much as I want to trust Imperial Command (being an Imperial myself), they aren't exactly being what you'd call diplomatic. I may end up defecting if this fallacy continues....

When the ALLIANCE starts making ships to combat the thargoid threat you should take that as a hint that Peace with the Thargoids is impossible. They want us dead. They take the escape pods back to their anthill so some big fat brain bug can stick it’s weird straw tooth into our skulls and suck our brains out and extract information from our brain matter. That’s what’s happening. They target aegis because there’s really smart people there and their brains hold a lot of data that straw tooth wants to munch on.

I have been and always will be Credit Friendly.

If the Thargoids offer to pay me for something, then I'll be friendly to their credits.
Otherwise, I'm content to leave them be if they leave me be.

So far we have no evidence to show AEGIS as being anything like INRA, and I seriously doubt anyone can really claim the moral high ground here. Odds are everybody's got somebody's blood money in their pockets somewhere.

I adopted this strategy a while ago, but I think it's a bit naive to think we will ever get along with them, just because of game mechanics and plot.

They're stepping on us because they don't understand that we're sentient (questionable).
That's pretty daft. They know we are sentient, especially since THEY started a war and Humanity ended it with the Mycoid weapon. Now they are back and on the attack, which THEY started.

I have a feeling that a large majority of the current player base has no clue what the history is with the Thargoid. If they did, their would be different songs being sung.
Also, as noted, there is no evidence at all that Aegis is doing anything other than research and development on Thargoid bio and tech. They developed all of our current weapons and defensive capabilities, which is the reason why the Thargoid are attacking stations they have a presence. It's my belief that they are trying to head off another Mycoid type weapon before a larger invasion.

And I have said this before, I'll say it again. Don't count out the INRA Mycoid weapon. The top people in INRA faded into the background, their descendants still have the data, Mycoid will be making a return at some point in the future.

Does not shooting at them count as friendly? Because there aren't a whole lot of options when it comes to interacting with them.

I think at this point we have to acknowledge that the Thargoids are invading human space. First of all they interdicted and disabled our ships, including life support, for their own purposes which is an aggressive act in itself. Also collecting occupied escape pods and reacting aggressively when approached rather than leaving the escape pods to human ships in the vacinity. Then they have attacked and disabled numerous stations killing loads of innocent people, regardless of wether they are Aegis stations or not. Finally, the Thargoid scouts are extremely aggressive and attack on site. I don’t think the scouts are a response to our actions as it’s a pretty weak response compared to their other ships.

A few humans attacking a Thargoid doesn’t represent the whole of humanity and an intelligent species would realise this. They have, however, attacked and disabled our space stations and supposedly fleets of ships. We have the right to defend ourselves and as far as we are aware there are no attempts from them for communication or peaceful relations. We should prepare for war rather than allowing them to continue their rampage through human space.

I am because you don't see them screwing each other over for a god damn percentage ;)

We are going to see a war of machine against flesh anyway and the Thargoids are going to realise we are on the same side.

I investigated them when they first became more interactive.

They opened fire in me first, despite me approaching slow and with hardpoints retracted.
So I retaliated, back then, our weapons did nothing, so it was just a slogging matching until I angered them too much and got missile'd to death. Lol

But I've only ever returned fire, and I've never killed one.

Mainly because I don't like the available weapon choices. :p
I'm crap with fixed, so until we get gimballed, and/or guided missiles, I'm out. :p

If Oss133 is Xeno-Agnostic, can I be Xeno-Apathetic? I'll just stand over there and be Xeno-Apathetic then.

According to their behavior I always saw the Thargoids as some kind of natural phenomenon. Dangerous, but not hostile by design. The station attacks are the first sign of some kind of clear agenda. They don't like Aegis and are taking care about them with the precision of a natural catastrophe. That's actually the part that troubles me. Their distinction between "neutral target" and "EXTERMINATE!" does not take into account collateral damage. It's like "bad things inside there somewhere. Solution: blast into the general direction of bad things".

So in my opinion we can't be friend with Thargoids because becoming friends with somebody would require communication. But they are either so alien to us that we can't communicate, or they don't want to. Or both. For me they are still pretty much a natural phenomenon which becomes more and more a threat the more collaterial damage they inflict, or are potentially able to inflict. Thargoids in the bubble is something to worry about in my opinion.
But who knows? Perhaps they bring back the King! ...

I'm a Xenatheist currently, the Thargoids have been friendly so far and not attacked me once. Guardians Sentinels attack on sight, which might just be a misunderstanding, not wanting us to desecrate their structures.

Aegis are a shadowy government agency that have lied to date, so good riddance to them, just a pity about the collateral damage.
