If the new mining stuff pays like crap then most people won't bother with it. If ice mining is still the worst paying aspect of the game after 3.3 then miners still won't bother visiting ice rings. If the new exploration mechanics and content is just for sightseeing then again many people won't waste their time on it. Frontier needs to not only develop fun mechanics for Q4, they also need to make them compelling from a rewards point of view, something they often blunder with.
I still can't believe that ice-mining and salvage are not sorted - they are simply not worth it for the credits - surely that could have been addressed by now?
I am hopeful - but, like some others, I'm gradually drifting away. I havent played in months. I follow the live streams and announcements, but nothing compells me to get in. I don't understand the thargoids. Something which has clearly been superbly though out and designed, has been implimented in a kind of laclustre way. The variants are..underwhelming. Especially after the superb appearance of the first Hyperdictions.
Don't get me wrong, it's been amazing - definitely value for money. I suppose it's the missed potential and promise. That sounds unfair, becuae they have delivered a brilliant thing. It's just there are quite a few ways it could have been even better - and some of those things just don't ever get sorted. However, this judgement can only really be applied after the release of the last of this 'core improvement' season. I thought it was a brave and brilliant decision to do this for a season: My only concern is there is a LOT still left to be done (for whatever reason), and only one patch left to do it in. When it's released, we can all judge fairly.
