Is Q2-Q3 still the target for Horizons?

The trees are blooming. The birds are singing. Error is on the verge of another sodium spike (as are many others, except for Bongo(I'm jelous of your steeley reserve!))
Spring and Quarter 2 are nearly upon us.

As stated by Gary, See here for quotes
Horizons is coming after Q1 but before Q4.
Is this still an atainable goal?

They said it's coming, so it's coming to Xbox. Non believers need not apply. (V8 Unicorn, I value your input but a non believer is a non believer[blah])

What do y'all think?
I get that the news letters are not focusing on one platform over another, rather they focus on the current season. Unfortunately we cannot access that seasons content so it becomes a little disheartening to see all the cool new features but not hear anything other than a 6 month time frame of when we might receive said content.

Some teasers or at least a little foreplay would be a great pickme up around this forum.

Given the nature of 2.1 patch, and how they've stated the release of 2.2 and forward, 2.1 is likely going to contain a lot of prepwork for future stuff, that it could include horizon for xbox is not an unlikely thought given that the beta, for 2.1 starts i may, and we will be nearing summer which was said to be 2.2 release, well.....we will see.

I figured the delay would also delay any Xbox updates but asking Gary that question lead to a response of "i dont have any further information other than the broken record response" I mean I get that but I'd rather hear about a delay up front than hear nothing at all

I'll start worrying if we still haven't heard anything re: EDH + XB1 by late Q3, as in the window FD gave themselves.

A little patience goes a long way, no?

my feeling is it's going to be round may/June time, with all the naysayers and those who about to have a CVA (some one keep singing soft kitty to Error keep that man calm for a bit) feel glad least we have had horizons mentioned coming to our lowly platform. I suggest we have a minute silence in recognition of the unclean ones on the shunned Mac system and their horizonless future

Well since the pc version was released in December 2014 and horizons was released the following December in 2015 I'm going to put my money on a June release of horizons for Xbox as that will be a year since release so going to wait and see

Also a reasonable viewpoint.

My money is on the Q3 timeframe. But delays do happen. I won't be too devastated if it gets delayed to Q4 things happen. But if that is the case hopefully a little insight into the dev team for Xbox as to why a delay is neccesary.

Frontiers history with hitting ED deadlines is.... that they have moved one release date back for 6 weeks, once. That is the current 2.1 Horizons release.

Every other deadline they have fulfilled. On time, every time.

This is quite impressive. I've been a dev for over 15 years, I've worked in large corporations and small startups. In all that time I have *never* been involved in a project that has shipped on time. The norm is to overrun by at least weeks, often months. It's the nature of the beast.

My guess is that FDev have had a build of Horizons running on XBox since before Christmas, but there is a gulf between having 'something running' and producing a marketable release. I'm not holding my breath for Horizons :)

Out of curiosity what have you worked on?

I joined Elite after full release so this is my first experience waiting for FD to deliver. I'm not too worried, I'm a patient man. I'd rather they delay an update/expansion than release it all buggy and such. Like 1.5. No disrespect but I feel like that was not ready, could have used more time in the oven. Again, sometimes programs act unpredictable once released to the masses and bugs will always happen. Maybe they are trying to make horizons on Xbox a perfect release, fixing issues that have plagued PC when horizons launched. And I agree with an above poster that FD likely have horizons on Xbox. Working and doing as intended. The work is optimizing it for mass release and ironing out any issues. We could all help with a beta *cough*. FD let me...I mean us help you ;)

I'm not worried about them hitting the release date. I'm simply curoius if the 2.1(?) Delay will affect the Console version.
I'm under the assumption that it will not since separate teams are working on the separate platforms. Also Gary stated that when the console version is released it will be at the current version, (2.X)

But we all know what happens when you assume.
