Is the game trolling us with Belugas?

Now I'm somewhat concerned for the Chieftain, I like the style they're currently showing, now I'm concerned it'll end up looking like a keelback.

I think they already showed an actual model, no? Albeit without textures, but it looked like the concept.
I remain hopeful. :)

Is it the same situation in Solo? I've noticed in Open & Mobius that you always get put into a busy instance that has been active for a while (Hence the huge amount of NPC traffic)

The devs could do with tuning down the amount of Beluga traffic, also seems bizzare watching stations blow up passenger liners for waiting too long in a queue :-/
But what would we watch while waiting for the mission board to refresh? :p

No doubt the Beluga is an "interesting" looking ship and guess that is enough for some. The question that constantly eats at me is the existence of the huge wings. In the vacuum of space, no ship needs wings or even contours of any kind. Heck, every ship could be varying sizes of a cinder block and be just as maneuverable in space. I realize no one wants to buy or fly a cinder block regardless of how cool the paint jobs FDEV could come up with, but wings? really? wings? in space?

End of story.

Oh, come now. Be fair. That wing on the car (what the hell is that car, anyway? :D) at least has a function. Not the desired function, true, but as an air brake it must work flawlessly.
The wing on the Beluga, on the other hand... :)

It's a car with no use for a spoiler, which is not an air brake, but rather creates drag to keep the vehicle from lifting at high speed, something that car will never achieve, unless pushed from the back of an airborne C-130 and allowed to free-fall to terminal velocity.

There's a tourist beacon just a few km outside Obsidian Orbital. The Belugas there then dock at OO. That's why there's so many when you try to leave.

Decided to investigate, you are correct, a constant stream of Belugas flowing out of the tourist beacon 20km's away. They don't even scan the beacon, just head straight for the orbital.

Pure chaos
