For me this is set to GMT and not BST, which means it is 1 hour behind. Is there a setting for this somewhere?

It is always showing Galactic Standard Time which is a lot like GMT.
I wondered about that too at first and then realised that the clock is supposed to be universal to all players. One Galaxy, One Timezone.
No, just the correct time would be nice. Note I was only asking whether there was setting for this.

The short answer is "no", the clock is very much fixed and cannot be changed in any way.
(edit) quite a few people will be sensitive to the topic because there were a lot of threads about the clock in the beta forums. Hiding it, changing timezones, the works. At this point, it's safe to assume that it will remain just the way it is.

Well you could argue all the different time zones in the world are correct, but I'm guessing people will tend to use the time of where they are.
So I'm interested, why do you think they added a clock to the game?
Because some missions require you to be at a certain place at a certain time, and that time is always given in GMT (or UTC, when a leap second comes along we can check).
I haven't done those types of missions yet, so that does make total sense if they have time objectives.
It is the correct time, game time. Or would you like to do mental math converting time zones on the fly when given a mission?
