It`s MY Carrier so why should i

I've said this before, but at some point in the future I would like the Fleet Carrier to have an owner's hangar which will not require clearance to enter, and as soon as you are within ATC range they will greet you accordingly and let you know that your bay is being made ready. The way I see it is that it would be a pretty large bay, something like this:

Doing more fantasy development would lead to a little transport buggy that can seat four people that can be used to quickly get from ship to ship. There would be, say, twelve bays that you can park your most used ships in that are accessible by just walking up and entering, with the rest behind the infinite storage elevator doors that open up to deliver any particular ship from there.

I'm not sure how to deal with people sneaking in with their ship while the doors are open, maybe have some station guns attack immediately or something, and additionally have three pads set aside for teammates' ships.

FWIW, the codex refers to carrier purchases and owners, not to leases and leaseholders.
I'm sure it does. I could also say the sky is neon green... observation shows that clearly isn't true, and this sort of thing wouldn't be first-time occurring from FD.

I personally can't think of a situation where I've ever "purchased" anything where there's ongoing fees beyond the initial sale value, and the item is repossessed if I don't pay those fees[1], and gives me a vendor refund when finishing use. We can call it a swan when it looks, smells, tastes, swims, sounds like a duck... doesn't make it a swan though.

tl;dr sounds like the codex needs correction ;)

[1] Noting I can think of plenty of situations where if I don't pay ongoing fees, there's breaches of other arrangements, but ultimately they're unrelated to the actual purchase, which will just lie derelict in isolation of anything else.

It says pretty clearly in the Fleet Carrier Content reveal (by FD) that one purchases a fleet carrier, no mention at all of renting and if there's mention of renting one in the game I haven't seen it. The ongoing weekly maintenance is just that, cost of crew and services you have installed on your carrier. And of course it's also a credit sink...

Additionally the splash screen after purchase congratulates you on being the the proud owner of a Drake Class carrier. 🤷‍♂️

(It's all in the first 10 minutes of the video.)

Being able to stand up during the jump sequence is not possible because it's a loading screen so a fixed POV, and while I've never paid attention to what I have had to pay to re-arm or repair it's kind of immaterial because it's a trivial amount of credits that probably goes into the carrier balance anyway. I don't have a bar on my carrier, because if I want a drink my computer gets turned off... :)

I have no objection to having to request docking but it would surely not have been difficult to record a unique message for the carrier owner for when they request docking to acknowledge they are 'coming home', and I imagine not that hard to enable an owner to reserve a landing pad. Or maybe it would have been...

Yes, but you're not the Codex. :)
Like i said, not first time occurring for FD to incorrectly describe things.

End of the day, it doesn't matter whether it's purchased or hired, if we all agree it's just irrelevant flavour text to wrap an ingame system designed to be a currency sink.

But if we're going to start using that definition as the basis for making changes like the OP is doing, then yes, I'm going to argue the codex is wrong. And there's plenty of precedent for the codex being wrong.

Observation is irrelevant. We live in the brave new world* where beliefs and feelings rule. 😛
*May not actually be new, may in fact be really old and dumb way of doing things

Don't buy property....

Don't buy property....
Why? Property isn't any different. Or are you talking about land/ property tax or home loans, neither of which have any relevance here.
(Home loans giving you, well, money, not property, and land/ property tax being about the place the property is located, not your ownership of the property)

The one that gets me, is the barman doesnt sell any of the Drinks, Drugs, Toys or Food that is stocked on my FC.

Such a shame I cant get a Nice onion head smoke to go with my Lavian Brandy and my side order of Karsuki Locust !

Its a shame Fdev misssed out on having all the rares and items in game not having a 3D model to display (in the FC museum) or order at the bar.
I would love to visit the Dungeon room on my FC where I keep the Political Prisoners, I call it "The Gimp Room". :)

My FC cargo :-

It will be great if the Bar people sold drinks affecting your vision and ability to fly properly after you've had a few. 😂

The effect could disappear after an hour (it realistically should be longer but FDev could make it shorter for gameplay reasons).

Traffic control voice Blaine says "welcome to OUR carrier" like I'm sharing the ownership of the carrier with someone else, perhaps a commune? AndI believe so, since other notorious greetings that Blaine says "Oh! It's you". Yeah, it's damned HIM again, he's is back. Seriously personnel attitude on carrier is scandalous. Would love to have a MUTE button on that voice, why do we don't have any option to do that? Or at least have proper greeting like they greet on Imperial stations where every pilot feels he is being greeted and welcomed at it;'s best.

They say ours as not yours and theirs. They say ours because they are from brewers and its their carrier, not yours :p
Also when i hear imperial flight control i always feel this kind of an itch in my federal hardpoints... :D

Fleet carrier is like real estate. If you buy an apartment, you own it and can remodel, furnish and decorate it however you wish, but don't fall too much behind paying for heating, garbage collection, maintenance fund, property taxes etc. Or the HOA/coop/whatever that runs the building can go to court and ask for the mandatory selling of your property to cover the debts.

It's a franchise.

Agreed.

Um..

Have to ask permission to dock on it ? Why don`t i have my own designated bay ?

Because traffic control is real. Crew need to be alerted that you're arriving and which pad to prepare. They're not standing around, looking out windows, waiting for master to come home. They're employees with jobs to do. Even that guy sleeping on the bench, he's overworked already and on break.

And I'm not sure why you'd want a designated pad. I'd hate to have to run the length of a large pad when I'm in a small ship.

Why should i have to pay to re-arm and refuel ?

Because that stuff doesn't magically appear out of thin air. You have to pay for it as the owner! The weekly costs are for employees and overhead, not supplies.

Why can`t i stand on the bridge and watch the jump into hyperspace, who`s this who keeps escorting me to my designated seat ?

Safety officers, you insane maniac. They don't want to have to clean your guts off the wall AGAIN.

Why can`t i sit in MY seat whenever i want ?

You can. But I agree, the game should just kill you if you refuse to do so. And then keep the blood stain decals from the last time you wanted to show how much of an individual you were. Or maybe it takes the Fleet Carrier away, because that CMDR is now dead, and you're playing a clone.

Why`s the bloody barman not serving me any alcohol ? I want my single malt damnit !!

There's no drinking mechanics. Wait until the next DLC, Elite Dangerous: Valhalla.
