It's an entirely different kind of flying, altogether!

It's not really neutral genus either.
Die Bismarck - the name gives thtee entity uniqueness.
Das Schiff Bismarck isnt THE Bismarck - just a ship that happens to be named Bismarck. Probably a herring freighter.
Yes I like pickled herring. Ze Bismarck herring.

My FdL is called Nemesis, because it's my nemesis. True love/hate relationship, I'm just not the right pilot for one.

So I was a big ship pilot (though not turrets) until the stepsister of the FdL arrived.

That ship is for me all I always hoped the FdL would be.

I came to the same conclusion but went a different way & use a Chieftain, it has a bigger distro & is less prone to stalling out so I can stay close & on target for longer. I found the Mamba (in my hands) was better for long range sniping but not as good as the 'vette. I have 3 FDLs (hulls are similar, weapons vary) & 4 Vettes (weapons are similar but hulls are outfitted for different roles) but only ever felt I needed one Chieftain for the uses I have for it.

Most of my killing is done in a Python tbh, because it's the ship I'm usually in when NPCs attack me ;)

I do have a Mamba, I just haven't decided what to do with it yet. I think perhaps I will engineer my Corvette, and then engineer my Mamba. With 2 small, 2 large and 1 huge hardpoint, I might forego the smalls, and use the class 3s and 4s to mount long range sniping lasers on.

Another different kind of flying...

Sort of, really it's just like a (much) bigger FDL...
I spent a while (and a fortune) some time back fitting the ship, and today after getting more uni work than I was expecting, done, I spent some time engineering away.

Went into the site for a 20 minutes or so, killed two Anacondas. One of them, Elite.
I docked up, feeling pretty pleased with myself! :D o_O

I'm pretty pleased with the fit, though of course it isn't nearly finalised yet. I just wanted to test the weapons, and I'll be swapping a few things out (like the fuel scoop) later on.

The main weapons are a fixed Class 3 beam laser, and two fixed class 4 beam lasers. All three have long range G3 with Thermal Vent. That's right, I can fire all three and ice up my flight deck windows! But if I miss? God help my air conditioning!

It'll be better when I unlock more G5 engineers, but for now, the Corvette is a super death turbo XL machine!
Can't wait to spend lots of time flying it tomorrow after I submit my assignments!

The smalls are excellent for utility, emissive, corrosive, feedback cascade, to name but a few.

I'm looking at options for the small hardpoints on the corvette too, to be honest. I'm trying to avoid ballistic and missile weapons, though.

I'll have a look into it.
I'm gonna hop back in the FDL for a while soon, I'm just flying the Corvette for something different.
In the FDL the problem I had was that the smaller ships were easy prey but the largest ships were too tanky and too strong for me to be eager to fight.
Now it's the other way round - I'm excited to see a python or an anaconda, but smaller ships - especially couriers, those little buggers! - are a pain to kill at anything less than a KM or so.
