John Williams to do the music?

Moved thread to the general discussion thread. While we won't be having John Williams, we do have some excellent people in mind. We're in the selection process at the moment so I can't say to much, but we should be able to give you some details in the next few weeks, or 'soon' as I like to say :)

Michael

Michael, seriously, find yourself a dictionary and look up the definition of the word 'soon' ;)

I like Jarre too.
More suggestions, Jimmy Page (guitarist legend), Brian May (again great guitarist and heavily into Astrophysics) or the Eagles :D Why the Eagles? This is why.

My first thought was @DrBrianMay as well.... Imagine that Guitar in the background! For anyone out there who's not convinced, listen to some of the 'Brighton Rock' solos he's done live.... That man can make all sorts of effects with the Red Special...:cool::cool:

Posts like that make me go all funny at the knees :D Brian May guitar solo as you exit the station.:eek:

Shame you can only rep a post once.

Anyone wanting to listen to musical genius at work Youtube link .

I may be a massive Queen fan by the way. :D

<grins> If I had to choose specific launch music, it'd be Sunrise from Strauss' Also Sprach Zarathustra.

Brian May is an astrophysicist too, so he'd be perfect for Elite :D He's a visiting researcher here at Imperial College actually, though I've never seen him on campus :-/

Another possible option is Paul Ruskay who did the incredible, memorable, and highly innovative soundtracks to the Homeworld series of games and more recently Strike Suit Zero.

I think it's probably because of him that I can no longer imagine flying around in deep space without a proper sārangī accompaniment.
