Hello All!
Introducing my brand new project for the 30th Anniversary of Jurassic Park in 2023! Bringing together lore from the films and viral marketing world-building from Chaos Theroum this chronological timeline will detail major events from across the Jurassic Saga recreated in Jurassic World Evolution 2.
Feel free to follow along on the Instagram Account: Jurassic_Timeline! Each post will have multiple images for the event, going into more detail than this thread.
PART I: ORIGINS
Before the age of man, before the age of dinosaurs, it was the age of monsters. The Permian Period spanned 47 million years from the end of the carboniferous to the dawn of the dinosaurs, 252 million years ago. This diverse world was inhabitated by strange mammal-like reptiles such as dimetrodon and lystrosaurus, which would eventually walk the Earth again. The Permian ended with the biggest extintion event in Earth's history... so far.
The Dawn of the Dinosaurs. During the Triassic Period, all continents were connected as one giant landmass, Pangea. The dinosaurs started out small - in what is modern-day south america, it Pangea was home to small therapods, such as Herrerasaurus and Ceolophysis.
The Age of Giants. The Jurassic Period saw life at it's largest yet - from the large therapods like Allosaurus to the behemoths of the Mesozoic, the sauropods like Brachiosaurus and Diplodocus. Marine life also proliferated to new sizes in the form of marine reptiles like Icthyosaurs, Plesiosaurs and Mosasaurs.
The height of the dinosaurs. The Cretaceous period saw unparalleled diversity in life - from dinosaurs, to pterosaurs, marine reptiles, mammals and birds. It also saw the first flowering plants.
65 Million Years Ago, North America. A territial dominance battle between a resident Tyrannosaurus and a visiting predator from the south sees the mighty rex fall. A passing mosquito lands on its fresh corpse, and feeds on the still flowing blood - this blood will form the base genome for all InGen's Tyrannosaurs, 65 million years later.
