Jurassic World Evolution 2: Dominion Malta Expansion and Update 5 Coming December 8 2022

Hey again! I think we've talked about this before, but I think you may be pushing your Sandbox parks to the console's limit, unfortunately. As for the Ziplines, if you research them in a Research Center, then place them in your park, they should unlock in the Database

Jen’s is there a way to fix my ps4 you said the console limit right so tell me what should I do? I have two maps that they are nearly complete and the dinosaurs they get stuck or get blur in my sandbox so tell me is my Jurassic world evolution 2 sandbox mode gonna be fix or not for next week update and dlc

Hyped and can't wait to play it ! But it's not perfect for me because of one TINY thing : they could have made an effort and put the Microceratus, instead of staying at all costs in the "4 animals, never more." formula.

Especially since this time the 4 species are relatively small so adding a 5th one to compensate would not have been too much. And we could have completely turned the Dominion page once and for all, it would have been a nice ending to the Dominion arc of the game.

While there, it leaves an aftertaste of a missed opportunity. And ultimately (and sadly) it will surely take a slot in a future pack that could have come down to something more surprising.

Do we have any new fences or paths with this dlc/update?
Hey Sidz! There won't be new fences or paths added in this update.
With the new variant system, if random skin/pattern is selected, will there still be the possibility for a mix between the default versions and the variants in the same clutch, or are those completely separated from each other?

I personally prefer a mix, because I like the diversity in looks that the random option can bring, but I could definitely see why some people would like them separeted too.
If you click "Random" it'll select from the whole pool of available skins, but I don't think it will add Variants with body/pattern colour combos though, if that makes sense? So if you create a group of Kentrosaurus, there's a chance one or several will be the Pierce Variant, but it'll be the default Pierce Variant
The Malta buildings are gonna be a new era?
Yes! :)

Will the Moros and (Dominion) Iguanodon be added to the Biosyn campaign subsequently?
They should be available there now, since they showed up in Biosyn Valley in the film.

I need to update my system. I think they'd look great alongside the 1993 JP stuff.

Kind of late to the news about the Malta DLC and free update news. But it looks good. I like the skin and pattern choices for the movie accurate models. I guess the JP era models will get some new skins later on.

Welcome, Park Managers, to our new expansion!

Introducing the Jurassic World Evolution 2: Dominion Malta Expansion, coming December 8 for £15.99/€19.99/$19.99.

Set before the dramatic events of Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World Dominion, you’ll head to the warmth of the Mediterranean and attempt to manage multiple dinosaur facilities across three locations. In the Dominion Malta Expansion, you'll be able to discover new prehistoric species, three new island maps, Malta inspired buildings, and an all-new campaign!

Shall we take a look at what's included in our new DLC?

New Prehistoric Species and Skins

Give your guests an unforgettable experience with four captivating species introduced in Jurassic World Dominion, as well as some stunning new variants of existing species and additional film skins! All of the dinosaurs included in this pack come with 12 body colour and 7 skin patterns each.

Atrociraptor

Arguably even more dangerous than its Velociraptor cousins, Atrociraptor has a bulkier body and boxier snout. One of the 'designer dinosaurs', their colourations can vary wildly between individuals. Not to worry, though, we'll be providing you with all four of the Atrociraptor's iconic Jurassic World Dominion skins, Ghost, Red, Tiger, and Panthera!
Lystrosaurus

This short, squat herbivore is notable for its tusks and horned beak, which are used to bite off bits of vegetation. With powerful forelimbs and an unusual-shaped skull, we're sure your guests will be thrilled to see them in your parks! Lystrosaurus will also have a 2022 skin, based on Jurassic World Dominion!
Oviraptor

Don't let Oviraptor's size fool you; they possess an incredibly powerful jaw for their size! Originally thought to steal other species' eggs (hence the name Oviraptor, which means 'egg thief'), it's since been understood to be an omnivore. With a distinctive head crest and feathers, Oviraptor has an incredibly unique look. In-game, you'll also be able to enjoy a 2022 skin.
Moros Intrepidus

One of the smallest Tyrannosauroids to have ever existed, the Moros Intrepidus is only a fraction of the size of its famous relative, the T. rex. Despite its short stature, it is known to be a quick and nimble hunter. With an incredible 2022 skin, Moros Intrepidus is a formidable addition to any park.
Alongside these 4 incredible new Prehistoric Species, Jurassic World Evolution 2: Dominion Malta Expansion will also include new variants based on the iconic dinosaurs from Jurassic World Dominion's stunning Malta setting.

Ensure your prehistoric species are as awe-inspiring as ever, with new 2022 variants for each of the following:

  • Allosaurus
  • Dimorphodon
  • Iguanodon
The Iguanodon 2022 variant will also be getting 12 new body colours and 7 new patterns - we can't wait to see what you do with them!

You'll also be able to sink your claws into a new Carnotaurus 2022 skin.
New Campaign

Set before the events of Jurassic World Dominion, help lead a brand-new enterprise in Malta. Work alongside Cabot Finch and key figures from the film, including Kayla Watts (voiced by DeWanda Wise), Soyona Santos (voiced by Dichen Lachman), Barry Sembène (voiced by Omar Sy), and Lewis Dodgson (voiced by Campbell Scott) as you set up parks across three new Mediterranean locations. New species will be acquired via the Dinosaur Exchange, where you'll also be able to find eggs and genome data - no Expeditions or Fossil Extractions here! Make your mark and develop a profitable network of parks utilising brand new Malta buildings and decorations.

You'll be required to work with both the Underground and Authorities, building trust with these organisations via various actions to unlock further opportunities such as hatchery upgrades, locations, and more. Progress is persistent across all three locations, including your research – switch between them on the fly, or even move dinosaurs from one island to the other. Money and scientists will be independent per island, though, so you'll need to ensure each one is running as well as possible to complete this new campaign scenario! You'll unlock these three locations during campaign mode, and will also be able to enjoy each of these new islands in Sandbox Mode as separate maps, as well as the all new Malta buildings and decorations.
Update 5

Alongside the new Jurassic World Dominion 2: Malta Expansion, we're also releasing Update 5, which is a free update for anyone who owns Jurassic World Evolution 2. This update comes with new levels and features, as well as some quality of life updates and bug fixes. It also adds the ability to import saves from PlayStation 4 consoles to PlayStation 5 consoles.

New Challenge Levels

Update 5 includes the 5 DFW Campaign maps as Challenge Levels, which will become accessible once you've earned 3, 5, 7, 9 and 2 stars respectively across all maps in Challenge Mode. These include Arizona Breakout, Washington State Wreckage, Pennsylvania Headquarters, Oregon Aviary, and California Photography - a brand new photography challenge! You'll also be dealing with some brand new Challenge Conditions, which will vary across levels. These range from Tranquilliser Upgrades, which will require you to research new upgrades to tranquilise any dinosaur over a Level 2 Security Rating, Psychological Trauma, which will require you to hire Scientists with the 'Psychologist' trait to cure dinosaurs who possess this trait, and Staff Hiring Requirements, which will require you to meet certain needs before you're able to hire Expert staff members. We're sure you'll be up to the challenge(s), Park Managers!

New Tiny Dinosaur Behaviours

There are brand new behaviours for tiny dinosaurs in Update 5! This includes group attacks for Moros Intrepidus and Compsognathus on guests & goats, as well as changes to navigation logic, so that Lystrosaurus, Oviraptor, Moros Intrepidus and Compsognathus will navigate around water. Lystrosaurus, Oviraptor, Moros Intrepidus and Compsognathus also have some adjustments to their collision behaviours, so that they will now no longer collide with guests or vehicles!

UI Changes

Update 5 features a plethora of changes to how UI works in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Now, when transporting a dinosaur, you'll be able to see the outlines of territories and dinosaurs of that species, as well as an icon above which dinosaurs are liked, disliked, or neutral to that species whilst in transit. Once you've placed dinosaurs in their enclosures, selecting the Alpha of that species will also highlight the rest of said species for you, so you can see how many of one species you have within that enclosure.

There are lots more UI Changes you'll notice in Update 5, including a new 'ailment and tranquilise' icon when controlling the Capture Team or adding a new task, earlier fight notifications so you can step in when two dinosaurs aren't getting along, and an added notification when Park Tours are disabled by a storm. You'll be able to learn about the rest of the changes in the patch notes, which will be released December 8.

Quality of Life Changes

Of course, we've also got some quality of life updates coming your way in Update 5! These include Tour vehicles honking at dinosaurs blocking their way, as well as ensuring sleeping dinosaurs are reactive when being honked at, and territory decaying more slowly near desirable feeders that are inside the territory. Alongside this, the Kentrosaurus 2015 and Ouranosaurus 2015 Variants (both from the Camp Cretaceous Dinosaur Pack), as well as the 2022 Variants of Dreadnoughtus and Giganotosaurus from the Dominion Biosyn Expansion will each be getting 12 new body colours and 7 new pattern colour options, and you'll now be able to view a Body Variant selector in the genome editor and Species Viewer for these species.

There will be more quality of life changes, as well as bug fixes, in the full patch notes coming out on 8 December.

We will have more details to share about what you can expect from the Jurassic World Evolution 2: Dominion Malta Expansion and free Update 5 in the lead up to full release on 8 December. Keep your eyes peeled to our forums and social channels for any and all updates, and check out the new expansion here, and add to your Steam Wishlist here.

I definitely looking forward to the upcoming DLC and Update five. I know many people in the dinosaur forum have said they were hoping these species would be added into the game. I am am looking forward to seeing the Oviraptor, especially after watching the live stream @Jens Erik did on YouTube today, which indicated it would in fact be an omnivore. That could help to pave the way for possibly adding other omnivorous species, like Deinocheirus. I'm happy to hear that more locations outside of the United States are being added, especially when they have very different biomes compared to what we currently have in the game. The new architecture might actually allow players to make their maps look more like towns and cities that you would find in that region.
The new behaviors for small, nonraptor species are nice to see, particularly the pack hunting. The only issue I think remains for small species that I know of is the fact the game still uses helicopters to transport really small dinosaurs like Compsognathus, which, while it is somewhat funny to watch sometimes, is kind of illogical. I think it would be more logical to use drones or ground transport vehicles to transport small dinosaur species, while the helicopter handle the medium to large dinosaur species. I discussed this previously in another post which I'll provide the link for here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/ground-transport-teams.604608/#post-9872423
For the most, I think the new update and DLC will definitely help to make the game more realistic and inclusive.

Hey Jen’s if you and frontier won’t add Microceratus in the dlc why not do a free update I mean you done before in Jurassic world evolution 1 with the nasutoceratops so why not do it again?

Presumably that would be up to Universal to decides, not Frontier...
One thing I don't like. Universal dictating to Frontier. I wish they would be free to create New Jurassic Park style buildings such as resting areas or even janitor buildings without the restrictions towards Canon. Frontier feels like it's being chained to the ground because of universal.
It was because of Frontier many dinosaurs got better portrayals in the JWE1&2 games, then in the movies that Universal wasn't able to convince people to like these dinosaurs in Fallen Kingdom and Dominion.
I feel like this game hasn't even tapped its full potential.
😏

The problem of that is Universal want carnivore monsters, not carnivore animals. That why most people like the JWE Giga more thah JWD Giga, the first looks more an animal. Without spikes or cocodrille teeth/skin. Most people want to see the JWE Giga in the movie. Its a franchise of dinosaurs, not monters-superheroes. That something that Frontier undestand better than Universal. Frontier give us animals, not heroes. Thanks Frontier. I really mean it

Um... no. This franchise is about unpredictable sci-fi horrors brought to life by dangerous technologies abused by corrupt people... even in the novels the dinosaurs were genetic hybrid freaks out for blood, and don't pretend for a second any animal in any movie is scientifically accurate, because they are all freaks to some degree... even in the first one. And lets not pretend the plot was ever super great... they basically gave up on any sort of deep ideas for "dinosaurs chasing people" part way through the first movie... and any attempt to dig deeper since always winds up being a subplot... and that's the real reason this franchise has long dwelled in the pit of mediocrity... it's never been "deep and well written sci-fi thriller, featuring dinosaurs" like the novel, so now nobody wants that... they just want "walking with dinosaurs eating people."

I don't think its necessarily just this franchise. You see something similar with the Terra Nova tv series, which by the way a majority of the dinosaurs in it are not real species. To be honest, I don't think its just about horror. I think what they really want is drama, because that is what separates it from documentaries and gets the higher ratings. A lot of people these days want drama, because that is what makes it entertaining in their eyes.
The other thing that shows up a lot in dinosaur shows is time travel. They don't do that in this franchise though and instead explore how bringing them back could effect life in the present, which is one of the things I like about this franchise.

Will Lystrosaurus be a burrowing species... recent evidence definitely shows that the species definitely probably burrowed like most burrowing animals today. If this species doesn't have that mechanic yet then I hope it does down the line frontier developers add this mechanic to lystrosaurus. I would love to see this species evade its predators by running to its Burrow hiding from Dimetrodon.

Dunno what to say, I haven't done the Biosyn campaign yet and I can use the map in Sandbox.
The new maps will be available immediately in Sandbox Modem same as with the Dominion Biosyn Expansion maps :)
Will the Moros and (Dominion) Iguanodon be added to the Biosyn campaign subsequently?
They should be available there now, since they showed up in Biosyn Valley in the film.
Hey Gondwana! Moros Intrepidus and the Iguanodon won't be retroactively added to the Dominion Biosyn Expansion campaign
Will Lystrosaurus be a burrowing species... recent evidence definitely shows that the species definitely probably burrowed like most burrowing animals today.
The Lystrosaurus won't be burrowing - it's not a behaviour that we're planning on adding to the game
When does the preorder go up?
There's no pre-order for DLCs, only wishlisting on Steam. You'll be able to buy it on 8 December :)
