Welcome, Park Managers, to our latest Species Pack!

Introducing the new Jurassic World Evolution 2: Prehistoric Marine Species Pack, coming August 10.

Give your guests an unforgettable underwater experience with four new marine species. House gentle giants, prehistoric reptiles, and powerful, armoured predators in your lagoons.

Shall we take a closer look at what's coming in the Jurassic World Evolution 2: Prehistoric Marine Species Pack?

Archelon

There's a reason that Archelon's name means 'Ruler Turtle'! Thought to have lived in the Late Cretaceous Period, Archelon remains the largest turtle ever discovered. With giant flippers, Archelon was a fast swimmer, which is bound to make it a breathtaking addition for your guests!

Dunkleosteus

Sporting a massive, sharpened jaw, this powerful armoured fish was one of the most intimidating of its time. This voracious predator could soon be stalking your lagoons, for better or worse...

Nothosaurus

Look at those teeth! This nimble, distinctive predator roamed the shores of the Late Triassic, propelling itself forward with webbed feet. With a bioluminescent skin also available, your guests won't be able to tear their eyes away from this incredible species.

Shonisaurus

With a notably rotund frame, Shonisaurus was the graceful giant of the Late Triassic period. With only a long, skinny snout, the Shonisaurus would rely on its size to fend off would be predators.

Lagoon Rock Platform

You'll be able to make your Lagoons truly stand out with an all-new Lagoon Rock Platform. This will provide an above-water resting spot for both Archelon and Nothosaurus, whilst also providing your park guests with an incredible look at these stunning species.

Update 7

We've got some very exciting features coming in Update 7, which is free to all Jurassic World Evolution 2 players, including quality of life and bug fixes.

However, you'll have to come back tomorrow (Friday August 4) to get all of the details, in our upcoming Free Update Highlight.

Want a sneak peek before the highlight? You might want to keep an eye on our social channels: Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.

In the meantime, you can wishlist the Jurassic World Evolution 2: Prehistoric Marine Species Pack here.

Which of our new species are you most excited for, Park Managers?
Nice additions! I really liked it!

Under da sea! Under da sea!
Darling, it's better down where it's wetter, take it from meeeeeee~!

This is so good. Shonisaurus, the real-life leviathan of marine reptiles reaching 21 meters in length. The king of the turtles, Archelon. Straight from Camp Cretaceous, the fan favorite Nothosaurus. And a surprise guest, the armored scissor-jawed Dunkleosteus. Along with floating islands for Archelon and Nothosaurus and an awesome underwater viewing dome. Can't wait to see what's coming in the free update, hopefully social and environmental interactions for marine species, fixes to bugs like the animals being too high up when releasing and being almost out of the water when at the surface, and the animals utilizing the entire depth of the lagoon instead of just staying in the top 1/3 for 95% of the time.

That would undoubtedly be awesome. But I don't know how they can do that. As I said, that would be incredible.
What I have thought/hoped Frontier would do with Nothosaurus is that, since it only gets to 11 feet long and we see it in a swampy area in the show, that it would have normal land-based enclosures and swim around in the regular water since it's deep enough for it to submerge and swim in, you'd just have to have a lot of water for it, and it would use the Fish Feeder and could hunt the small dinosaurs up to Dilophisaurus' size from the water's edge or when they walk through it.

Finally another ichthyosaur, and the big highly requested Shonisaurus at that. Very glad to see the Camp Cretaceous Nothosaurus finally added to the game, one of the few canon species still missing, and Archelon is a great addition too. Dunkleosteus is the biggest surprise here (and my favorite prehistoric fish), since it hopefully opens the doors to more prehistoric fish in the future, like maybe a DLC for them (Xiphactinus, Leedsichthys, Cretoxyrhina, Helicoprion, and/or Megalodon, though I think the latter would go well in a Cenozoic DLC with the CC Smilodon, etc. I mean if the CC Nothosaurus is here and not tied down to another CC DLC, then maybe the latter is possible as well). I'm also shocked it was included since Frontier seemed pretty adamant about doing only marine reptiles earlier on. It's also from the Devonian period. I wonder if we'll get more Paleozoic animals in the game later as well? It, Dimetrodon, and Lystrosaurus are currently the only three (the latter two of those being film canon).

Edit: I'm also really impressed that Dunkleosteus has the up to date fluked tail, skin covering its head armor, and the eye bones (sclerotic ring) aren't exposed either. It's a very modern take for the most part, and I'm very much satisfied with it.

I didn't think I'd feel as much hype since the Feathered Species Pack earlier this year, but man what a surprise this one was. The game was overdue for more marine animals as well. Yet another day one purchase for me. Can't wait to see more on the update too. Glad we got little rock platforms for the Archelon and Nothosaurus to explore, and of course the new underwater veiwing dome. That's exciting. I hope we'll get some kelp decorations or a brush, etc, in this new update too. A new marine feeder would be good as well, but I think that might have been mentioned by now if that was the case. Like we definitely need more variety with the feeders. Ammonite, squid, etc since prehistoric marine animals diets were pretty varied. The insect feeder in the last DLC/update was good, but I also hope it gets expanded for more land animals that could use it, and I hope the marine animals get the same treatment. I'm also hoping for social behaviors for the marine animals with this update. This would be the best time to do it, since they have been lacking them since the game first came out. It would go a long way to making them feel more lively then they do now.

I think the rest (Saber-tooth included) will be Camp Cretaceous related, one partial reason I think that is as there’s also Little Eatie, the brown T.rex. Only a Big Eatie skin, the blue-grey one, was ever released of the two rexes.

Besides, most of JWE1’s expansion packs had fewer new dinosaur species than JWE2’s. What’s to say that won’t or can’t happen here too? Assuming a second CC PDLC will be just that, of course.

I like it but half of the creatures are not good.
Nothosaurus would have been better off in another Camp Cretaceous DLC & Shonisaurus would have been better in a Late Triassic Pack.

No point wasting one of our few DLC slots with another CC DLC, it would be a massive disappointment. Meanwhile, there is still the possibility of a Late Triassic Pack still, so I am not too concerned on that one.

It had to go into the lagoon, otherwise theyd have had to entirely rework how water works in the game, which is just not worth it for one creature in a dlc pack.
Sigh... then add one of the many other marine animals instead, and save Nothosaurus for a more appropriate pack. By putting a semi-aquatic in the lagoon, it seriously brings into the question the future of other potential semi-aquatic animals.
