I'm not into making list right now (maybe I'll catch time later) but I wanna touch up on two animals that are very rarely talked about model wise (at least what I noticed). Their models are far from bad, but I always nitpick and notice details with animala I care about more. Those two are
Mandrill and
Giant Anteater.
To be honest they're either neutral or leaning to "needing improvements" so far on lists in this thread. So I guess I'm not alone on this one.
I have the same "problem" with these two animals in that for the longest time I couldn't put my finger on what exactly irks me about them, but there was
something. So I'll try to give my best try in describing it here.
First Mandrill
Well I guess the first thing is that their bodies are too lean I guess. Real Mandrills have this buff look about them. The "mane" mandrill has on head in game should also appear on shoulders, I guess that could help to create this hunched look. The back of the mandrill are too flat in game.
Second thing the snout narrows from head to mouth in game, while the real animal has much more pronounced snout that starts to widen again.
The "mustache and beard" help with that a bit which are too "groomed" and rounded in game, compared to wild scarggly look irl.
And now for the Giant Anteater
The main thing with anteater has to be the same thing that bothers Orangutan. Fur is just too fluffy. But I that's how it is during early stages I guess, treatment Hyenas and Porcupines got would really upgrade the anteater.
The only other thing is maybe the head definition. Maybe in game heads stands out about much, while the head of a real animal seemingly narrows down directly from spine to the point of nose.
Again these are but nitpicks and details but I just wanted to mentioned them in spirit of topic.
