Just something I've noticed between FDev Streamers and "Regular" Streamers

no tarkov dosent run better than edo.. i own tarkov .. you people want to be mad with legitimet no reason .. i can pull up tarkov and elite and show you the bottom line hardware runing both games and you will see i legit get mroe fps in elite than in tarkov.. im tierd of this missinformation and its anoying at this point.
i can pull up tarkov aswell and run it side by side to elite. In a cz I get around 45 fps tops in ED:O. Tarkov I get at least 60, probably an average of 70-75fps (customs). The mis-information is saying that ED:O runs well to try and drum up this brainless myth that the game runs fine, when it clearly doesn't. Literally the same tactic used with Star Citizen shills to try and claim the game runs flawlessly to drive continued support for the project they have sunk thousands of dollars into.

since you sayd you notice the diferences with fdev not showing fps and other streamers to .. do you notice there high fps on dated hardware to from tose smaller streamers???

kinda wierd isint ?? that the perforamnce complains are legit non issue and come from people who dont actaully own the game ..
Absolute cow dung.

Even Frontier disagrees with you.

i dare you to pull tarkov .. hell we both can pull tarkov if you want and compare it ..

Least devs could do .. is admit that they messed up and they will work on fixing it, but instead they just hide the truth and ban those who speak the truth :/
I wouldn't be surprised if someone bans me for speaking the truth here too. But by all means ... go ahead and ban your loyal players and customers who spend money on your products, it's perfect way to make people leave the game.
I'm getting fed up of people going on about how Frontier routinely bans people from their streams who "speak the truth". Very few people actually get banned from the livestreams and if you can be respectful and follow the rules then you won't be getting banned. People are allowed to speak their mind, within reason, and there are plenty of negative or frustrated comments in the streams. So trying to pretend there's a coverup is just frankly ridiculous.

Also Frontier, and especially the Elite streams, allow you to get away with far more than any other company I've seen or been part of. You try going onto a Bethesda stream for example and saying their game is a rubbish buggy mess and (x) is much better, and see if they let that slide.

I will remind you also that the rules you agreed to when you joined the forums prohibit the public discussion of moderation actions. So don't do it again.

Most regular Elite streamers show their frames per second as standard or at least will if you ask them. They also show in their computer specs in the channel description. BUT if you ask the FDev streamers to do the same they ignore you, ask again and the mods threaten you, ask a third time and you get banned from the Twitch channel.

So for Arf, Bruce, etc, can you explain the reluctance to show some basic game and computer information?
In my eyes, it's not the topic of the stream, in any way. And it wouldn't really matter because they have very beefy computers that are meant to play these kinds of games. It wouldn't be the same as what we have at home.

Well… 20 fps might be fine for us old fogies, with our poor reflexes and lower standards. But what about those young-uns, with their lightning fast reflexes? They need 120+ FPS just to be competitive! 8ms reflex times, not 50 ms!
I'm an old fogie, and 20 fps ain't nowhere near fine for me. That said, not all fps are created equal. For example, I have MSFS locked at 30 fps, but thanks to an amazing motion blur algorithm and temporal antialiasing, it looks just as smooth as most 60 fps games I own. RDR2 uses similar technology on PS4, making it look better than some of my PC games. Now Elite on PS4, with its 20-30 FPS, looks quite rubbish (and I'm focusing specifically on frame pacing and smoothness of motion) compared to my PC which I lock at 60 fps. But in Elite's defense, this is the case with most games that don't provide some sort of motion blur / frame interpolation.

But I guess I am an old fogie on some levels, because 60* fps is just fine for me. I have a 144Hz monitor, but I run it at 60Hz because I just don't see that much of a difference for the games I play, not compared to the very noticeable difference between raw 30 and raw 60, and 60 fps runs way cooler and more consistently than 144 for me.

* NOTE - Most of the time I'm playing on a small 15 inch laptop screen. I have noticed that when I throw a game up on the big TV, I'm much more sensitive to framerate. The physical distance an image skips between frames when fps is less than minimum requirement to prevent pixel-skipping makes a big difference IMO.

As above, we have many checks and balances in place when moderating and if you or anyone feels that we have made an incorrect action please report and a CM will review.

Thanks.

Your lovely Moderators.

My personal issue with the whole framerate debate is that Odyssey doesn’t actually look that good to warrant such huge computing power from my PC.

I wouldn’t mind if my FPS dropped from time to time IF the game looked the part.
But it doesn’t.
It has undergone (is that even the correct word?) so many downgrades and it does look dated now.
Dated with exaggerated requirements.

I guess you just got used to it.
But if you take screenshots in Horizons and in Odyssey and compare them, you'd see that, compared with Odyssey, Horizons looks really cartoonish

So for me the debate is mostly around: was it really necessary? imo Horizons looks good enough for me.
However, since i dont play in VR and i have an rtx3080 laptop, i get a good gaming experience in EDO, 1080p, ultra+

I actually dont need to. Someone has done it for me already on youtube. (skip to 1440p, ultra settings).

Like I said, 75 ish fps average on customs.
ED Odyssey in a CZ is like 45 maybe 50 top end with an average fps probably in the low 40's.

In my opinion Odyssey is a downgrade - planetary tech is worse, lighting is all botched up, many effects were or still are missing (either due to bugs or because of ”optimization”) like SRV tracks, scratches on windows, planets in super cruise, shadows had issues, AA is non existent... etc.
BUT downgrade or not the point is that the visual quality simply doesn’t correspond to the needed computing power.
