I don't understand the OP's point.
I've made a good bit of coin and have received a great deal of satisfaction from skimmer missions over the past year, and have never killed them in a ship. I've only ever used the SRV, and always by landing away from the compound and dismissing my ship before driving in (I always assumed that it would be tresspassing either way).
The worst that would happen is that security defense would show up, and despite running for nearlt an hour a few times, one can't escape them in the SRV. A couple of times I was able to land my ship, dock, and get away or take them out, but I usually just had to self destruct.
Though exciting and challenging at times, (especially high security bases), they were always doable.
It sounds like the complaint is that the experience is no different than what I've always known it to be, and this is ruining things.
I guess if one only knew skimmer missions as "massacre them with missiles from the FDL" then yeah, I guess one would actually have to play the game as intended now.
Agreed 100%
