JWE3 Jurassic World Rebirth dinosaur speculation

I’m almost certain there will be Rebirth dinosaur content in Jurassic World Evolution 3, one way or another. In my opinion, likely sometime post-launch. It’s hard to speculate what they will all be, so here’s my current speculation on it:

Species:
  1. Titanosaurus
  2. Aquilops
  3. Anurognathus
  4. Distortus rex
  5. Mutadon

Variants:
  1. Quetzalcoatlus (2025)
  2. Spinosaurus (2025)

Skins:
  1. Dilophosaurus (2025)
  2. Compsognathus (2025)

Unknown placement - skins or variants:
  1. Velociraptor (2025)
  2. Tyrannosaurus rex (2025)
  3. Mosasaurus (2025)

Inclusion uncertain:
  1. “Amphibian species” of unknown identification
  2. “Fish/Snake/Amphibian species” of unknown identification (Though, I am very doubtful.)

Total: 12-14

(Not included)
  1. Dunkleosteus - Frontier only does living (active) animals seen on the screen, both species and designs.
  2. Pteranodon [small] - I’m pretty sure it’s nothing more than an intended easter egg of The Lost World: Jurassic Park Pteranodon with nothing deeper beyond that.
  3. Triceratops [mutated] - Frontier only does living (active) animals seen on the screen, both species and designs.
  4. Mutadon [two-headed] - Frontier only does living (active) animals seen on the screen, both species and designs.

If they keep up the standards set by JWE2, there will only be four animals in the DLC. Considering the size of Anurognathus, being much smaller than our current smallest animals, I wonder if including it would even be feasible.

I’d say Anurognathus or more or less similar in size as the Compsognathus and/or Microceratus, so I personally see no reason they would not ever include Anurognathus at all.

Here in reality, Jeholopterus is smaller than Compsognathus, yet it's still about twice the size of Anurognathus... so unless they've significantly increased the size of Anurognathus, there is a zero percent chance of them being similar in size to Compsognathus...

If I am not mistaken, Aurognathus and Jeholopterus belong in the scientific family. Will it have the same eating animation as the Jeholopterus? It only eats from the insectivore feeder.

Besides the new species, I would like to see Dr. Henry Loomis as a new independent character since the time of Claire Dearing and Owen Grady is over.

There is a bit much for one DLC, I suspect this is a bit of a Camp Cretaceous situation, where the remainder pop up in generic DLCs when appropriate.

I think the mystery serpent is the main one we might never get, mainly for the fact it might be intended to be a normal snake, like the CGI Capuchins and Dolphins, as South American Pond snakes and Boa constrictors can have a similar pattern, albeit are a fair bit smaller.

Info on the two unnamed species should drop eventually, granted it might take a while.

Apparently it's an eel, not a snake... and even if it was, I can't help but imagine a fully functional snake would be more work than Frontier would commit to.

Having just watched the movie, I can say it met my expectations... stupid, yet entertaining... just like the last six.

Where was it said to be an eel? All I see is where it comes from is fan speculation and the Fandom wiki which doesn't always gets it facts correct. Looking at it again now from a new perspective, no eel I've looked up has that kind of overall body design.

The fandom wiki obviously... does it really matter though? Snake, eel, whatever... there isn't enough screen material to identify what it is, so it obviously isn't being added to the game...

I do remember seeing large shingle type scales, which eels don't seem to have, but I guess we're not likely to get an official answer soon.

I would say the movie seems a bit dumber than usual, but more likeable than Dominion on first viewing.

I am curious to see how the tiny animals are going to function in JWE3, as I think the smallest one we have seen confirmed are the Deluxe Guanlong and Protoceratops. If we get confirmation of tiny ones like Microceratus, and Jehelopterus and see how Frontier integrates them into the game, it would make me really hopeful and excited to see the tiny animals from rebirth making it to the game. Anurognathus and Aquilops are a must for me.

I am veeeery curious how Titanosaurus would look and function in JWE3 with its really long tail. I think it would likely get a shorter tail, but it will still be extremely long. Jurassic World Alive did kept the tail long, but it ain't really all that ribbon like as it was in the movie where they go around the sauropods during their courtship scene, that felt like an exaggeration.

The Distortous Rex and Mutadon would both be interesting. I like the occasional hybrids in the JWE parks, and these two would be quite the challenge.

The D-rex if they retain the gargantuan size would likely be the hardest one to take down incase of an escape. May be the strongest animal in the game, but would very likely be slow to reach wherever it needs to go. I could imagine Frontier simply having the animal take down any fencing it wants with a single blow, it can't hunt anything that is faster than it, but it would be a sauropod's and giant theropod's nightmare. Its breakouts would be like stopping a destructive tank.

The Mutadon I am happy to see in the movie was capable of full on flight, cause I immediately acted like any sane person and thought "This would definitely be an aviary animal". It is funny how the first flying dinosaur the game would have is potentially a hybrid and not archaeopteryx or micro raptor, but I love the idea of actually having a hybrid animal that is unique in that it has to be housed in an aviary.

If all of the hybrids return to JWE3, I would love to go all mad scientist and make an experimental research facility like park and use the modular building to really make a set of buildings that fit the research facility aesthetic. I hope whatever DLC expansion the rebirth dinosaurs comes in would come with a set of modular assets that matches the laboratory aesthetic we saw at the beginning of rebirth.

I am hoping we see the amphibian get it, not only because it would make for some nice variety and aesthetically appropriate small animals for wetland enclosures, but because we might actually get confirmation what amphibian it actually is! I have been hearing that is it an Ichthyostega or a juvenile Mastodonsaurus, I just want to know what it is.

Lastly, really want to see if there is anything special with the rebirth ankylosaurus. We only ever saw a small glimpse of it in the movie (in the dark of all things) but I am curious if they have done something with the model design, since they do have the CGI model at hand. If that one render of it is anything to go by, it looks to have just longer horns by the head and sides, as well as a more rounded club tail. It is anyone's guess if this warrants a separate model, skin, or even being acknowledged at all.

Definitely not Ichthyostega... unless it is, in which case it's not remotely accurate to the real animal...

I’ve seen some guess it’s a Koolasuchus, but the head’s too narrow for Koolasuchus, and we know that because we have actual head material of it. Plus, they’re far too small to be that.

On the other end of the spectrum there's Prionosuchus... but then I feel the head isn't narrow enough to be that. Doesn't help they added what looks like a sail to the animal; I'm not familiar with any amphibians with one of those... except the max level "Labyrinthodont" from Jurassic World: The Game, which isn't a real animal.

I think it's most likely a member of the Capitosauria, but I've seen people adamant it's a regular GM salamander.

If it's got small tusks poking through, that'd be a giveaway for Mastodonsaurus, but I still can't find an image online yet.

Honestly, the more time passed since I saw Rebirth, the more I really want to see the Pteranodon design come to JWE3.

The Rebirth Pteranodon is essentially the 1997 Pteranodon design we saw from the Lost World. It has such a weird baby design in the movie (if that is even a baby) as it is essentially the adult size shrunken down considerably.

The Pteranodon barely gets exposure in the movie, but I think it may get a similar treatment to the Dominion Iguanodon. The 1997 pteranodon design was greatly requested for JWE2, and I would love if this style of pteranodon would make it to Jurassic World Evolution 3 thanks to Rebirth.
