Keyboard has completely stopped working in new patch - can't play at all

Ever since the new patch, I cannot use my keyboard in-game. I've tried several keyboards. I've uninstalled and tested the game without Razer software (I use a Razer Cynosa keyboard). I've uninstalled and re-installed all C++ redistributables. I've uninstalled NVidia experience. The game still will not recognize any in-game keyboard use, even the escape key is not registering. I've even updated, tested, and then rolled-back video drivers and tested again, then I re-updated the drivers, since there seemed to be no problem there. Before you ask, I've restarted every time I made a significant change. For some reason, I also have a thin green border around the bottom and right side of my screen. The planet generation operation repeats itself every time I start Horizons, but I'm not sure if that has to do with the problem I'm having or the fact that I keep having to alt-tab out of the game and shut it down from Task Manager because the freaking ESC key doesn't work anymore. My T16000 HOTAS works fine. Voice Attack with HCS Singularity profile doesn't recognize the game as logged in and won't start Singularity profile operations while the game is running, so I can't even use voice to play. I put in a ticket with Frontier, but an up-to-4 day wait time is F'ing ridiculous. It's my day off, I had to shut down the other morning so they could patch this pig with their bloody fleet carriers and now I can't play. I'm ed off, that's all I can say. I'd rather be able to play the freaking game than have a fleet carrier.

If anyone has a clue as to what's going on, I'd appreciate it. DXDiag is attached.

Someone in the Polish community had the same problem and for them it was the keyboard's software. You need to switch it off apparently. Not sure if it's the same issue.

did it work with your current razer keyboard software and specified keyboard driver b4 the patch?
personally I would remove the razer software and more importantly its driver and use it as a generic driverless keyboard if you have only just updated or installed the keyboard software and driver
if that is not the case and everything was fine b4 the patch
I would check the bindings folder in your appdata directory for a binding errors file and use this guide to eliminate any binding errors by renaming your bind files
instructions here my post number 5 https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...t-every-time-i-enter-the-controls-tab.507856/ worst case scenario use the N.B method in said post
good luck getting it sorted!

I've tried it with 2 seperate keyboards already, uninstalled and re-installed Razer software. Everything worked before the patch, so no idea what's happened. Gong to keep trying things til I figure it out. I'll take a look for that errors file and see if that's it.

Finally found the answer from a mutual sufferer on Steam. It's the anti-virus. In my case, it is specifically the auto-containment feature of Comodo AV. Will let support know for future reference.

Never run an antivirus while gaming, if your competent enough you know what belongs in task manager. I run win 10 in win 98 mode to save functionality there's tonnes of ways to gain more from your pc by shutting down useless tasks.

I've run Comodo and Elite together for more than 2 years until this patch. I never turn off my AV unless I have to - some viruses disguise themselves as system files, so knowing what belongs in your task manager can be good, or it can go bad, depends on the virus. As far as performance, I have no worries there, I'm lucky enough to have a machine that eats Elite on Ultra for breakfast without a stutter (I'm a game design student, so I need tons of power to render heavy-duty models quickly - not trying to brag, just stating a fact.) I've had to turn off AV before, but not in the past 4 or 5 years. Most developers have worked out the kinks with AV software and the two get along fine. Frontier just missed a bug in the new patch, which I'm sure they'll fix in the next couple of patches.

Thank you, I was having the same issues and with your hint I checked the Blocked Applications list and found Elite Dangerous on there. Unblocking the exe restored my keyboard back to its full functionality
