Knights Of The Black

No worries I think that goes for all of us! Sorry to hear you're still having health issues, hope you find a solution soon.

2.1 is going to beta next week and the Engineer mods and mission enhancements should make things interesting. I decided to order a copy of Elite: Reclamation as it's been well received. I'm normally wary of franchise spin-offs because they can be cheap and badly written (for anything, not just Elite), but thought I'd give this one a go.

As discussed, with the next patch we will see the convergence of several existing plotlines into one unified story - covering both the 'dark forces' at work within the Bubble, through to the barnacles and UAs and whatever is in the Rift...

I'm interested in the possibility that Halsey has genuinely seen something and isn't just descending into madness. So I'll try and contribute to the exploration data CG - as with the independent search for Starship One, we won't learn any more unless the goal is successful:

PS If anyone is interested in winging up more regularly for CGs, exploration etc, let me know and I will organise.

So would anyone be interested in a little trip out to the Crab Nebula,https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=241638&page=6 ? Signs up close 26th May so take a look soon if you are interested.

Found this in the Xbox forums. If anyone is out in the rift or knows someone, this might be something to look into and check out.

Thanks for the links, very interesting. The Crab Nebula trip is tempting (if I can keep up!), and I see there's a new Expedition hub and Rift trip planned as well: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=241589

No doubt a lot of attention will be turned to the Rift from now on. Here's part 3 of the thread, and CMDR Salome continues to guide explorers and player group The Children of Raxxla:

Rift pt3:

Salome speeches and CoR report:

With 2.1 and the attention the Rift is getting now I am tempted to take the long route home from the Crab Nebula and join up with the Rift expedition as well.

Good plan, good luck! That's gonna take a while :)

As mentioned to Jpinkston, anyone trying to crack Drew's hints to find something in the Rift?

if you read LuckyLuke's Rift thread (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=252932) then you'll find links to posts like this, analysing Drew's hints - there are specific clues to be found in his messages, as he says himself, and they may lead to co-ordinates - but no one's cracked it yet: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showth...=1#post2231067

He's made references to 'roC' and co-ordinates, - the obvous meaning is "right on Commander". But deliberately odd capitalization. He also mentioned "the, ahem, core of the problem" etc. The Children of Raxxla, aka CoR, or something else? They have been asked to patrol the Rift by the player-character Salome and they are now off to set up base stations in the Rift, allowing permanent patrols. You can find the locations on the forums.

Some details here, I don't know how to interpret it, but neither does anyone else just yet. It's gonna take some detective work :)

I didn't say there wasn't a code.

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showth...t=#post2226515

13/5
avgroenink posts “1,26,13” - this is in relation to the ".,.. ......,. ..." hint - this post receives a rep from Drew. Later Drew adds "1,26,13" to his signature

13/5
a conversation from Drew's Twitter feed: https://twitter.com/drewwagar/status/597478054034874370
from this conversation:
- Drew says (in binary) “not pulsar” in reference to the P in “EB,P”
- LordZoltan asks Drew "not a light curve by any chance?" to which Drew replies "Interesting idea. But if it is, I don't think you have enough data as yet."

17/5
it is noticed that Drew has removed the "1,26,13" from his forum signature, leaving just "EB,P."

17/5
Drew changes his signature to "RO,C. 1.3"

17/5
Drew's signature is now: "Right on, Commander ASC. Training level complete." "

I'm heading out that way to look for some more. I need to find a map of where the barnicals have been found. There has to be pattern or a trail to follow.

Some clutching at straws in the giant galactic needle haystack...

No way to know if the UAs and barnacles relate to the Rift, but I suspect that it will ultimately come together.

Salome's ship is called the Seven Veils...Seven Veils for Seven Sisters? And a rift could also be considered a tear, or a split...what could a tear in a veil reveal? Perhaps the purpose of the UA shell is to hide something from us...

As Drew said, nothing in this story is named by chance or without consideration.

Hey guys, I uh joined quite a while ago but haven't been on since and I'm getting back into ED. Am I still ok to join you guys? My in game name is CMDR Arcurtiss.

Hey there Commander Professor! Or is it Professor Commander? ;)

I'm sure I speak on behalf of everyone when I say yes, welcome! However, there is one snag - the founder of the group has not had time to update on here for a while, and he's the only one who can provide Enjin access etc. I already added you in-game, feel free to drop me a line any time.

And on the subject of our missing Lord Admiral, earlier I decided to try my hand at a bit of creative writing. Will post an update on this real soon :)

Hi guys

Nope, I'm not dead yet :D Just got back on and glad to see you guys are still hunting for aliens. Interesting stuff to read, and I'll reply to some of the posts here later on. Sad that after all this time there are still no alien ships to interact with yet. And from what I understand the whole Antares and President Halsey story arc turned up absolutely nothing related to aliens or even sabotage... which is pretty f'd up considering all the mysterious deaths and espionage surrounding characters related to the Antares and SS1 disasters. So much for following a coherent story arc...

One of the only things i trust anymore are the clues that Drew drops here and there. Any other garbage reported in the GalNet news should be probably largely ignored. It's just a bunch of stories pointing to CGs and a bunch of meaningless fluff. If you want more reliable news maybe read the Weekly World News [wacky]

But, the search continues. And thanks for keeping the group going, guys. I'll probably hook a couple of you up with admin status in our Enjin forums for those times I disappear. Its time we have a Lord Commander or two anyways [arrrr]

I'll be sure to play catch up over the next couple days and I'll get some join requests approved at Enjin.

Let's find some [alien] [alien] [alien]

Hoo-Rah! Glad to see you're back. There's alot of catching up and we will bring you up to speed on things. When I get home I'll be heading out to Merope 5c to join the party there for a day or so. Then I'll be setting off for the Rift. Xbox finally has Horizons so now I can check out things planet side. I'll get a message typed up with some links to some threads I've been following. Once again glad you're back! Fly safe and Fly Dangerous!

Welcome back, hope all is well.

Gotta say in many ways I'm glad the alien story is a slow burn, it should run the length of the game and not go into obvious territory. 'Evil aliens invade' has been done enough times surely, including in Elite. I want 2001, not Independence Day ;)

And I still think all the storylines including Halsey's and the Antares etc are ultimately connected, but we're still only seeing the threads, and not the whole web...I think we'll learn a little more about our 'friends' in the Bubble soon enough.

Agree about Drew, but it's getting complicated because not everything he's written is still canon. Which judging from some messages was a bit frustrating for him, but he did say he's had an update and things are looking interesting. He then said he was going to bolt from the bubble, so let's see what he's running from!

We now have three distinct alien entities to investigate, and Merope 5 seems the place to be - the Unknown Probes seem to point there. Plus the Feds have sent battlecruisers and installed defence turrets on 2A. Also, keep an eye out for secondary salvage missions aka 'Tip Off' missions, in some cases there are surface wreck graveyards with UAs to be picked up...and many planets and regions are now permit locked...why??

Been hunting for UPs when I've had the time to play. Haven't found one yet :)

But, a planet in G99-49 (Federal military convoys from G99-49 Life Industries are the carriers in Ross 47 and other Sirius-affiliated systems) spawns a relatively high number of Level 4 Convoys - sooner or later, one will turn up there. Always looking for more wingmen if anyone wants to help. I want to capture the audio broadcast for myself and run it through a scope.

Certainly 'Life Industries' is an interestingly named group, given the barnacles are confirmed to be a genetically engineered version of an older life form. This group seems to be conducting experiments on the UPs, mistaking them for the UAs. Heard rumours about new 'mission failure' chatter, but yet to see this substantiated.

Courtesy of Kerrash, rumours abound of a possible crashed alien ship to be found - the ultimate 'Tip Off' mission perhaps, but again, nothing to substantiate this as of yet.

And keep your eyes peeled for any Galnet news about Tionisla - it heralds another kickstart to the Rift story! In time for 2.2 seems most likely...

Greetings Knights of the Black, I am interested in joining. My name is CMDR Quail.

I play the game on PC quite regularly, usually in the evenings of the GMT +2 time zone. I am interested in joining as an expedition commander, as I specialize in long range deliveries and trading and will gladly drop off my routes to scout for alien activity. I currently own an Asp Explorer with a long range cargo loadout, which can easily be fitted for exploration as soon as a site of interest is discovered. (Most likely the Pleiades nebula due to the UP message.) Due to my ship, I can travel long distances at rapid speeds. I am also an experienced pilot in general, and I played the game on and off since the beginning of standard beta.

I would be more than happy to assist in your endeavors.
