Oh, it's very, very black here. I am currently at the very top of the Galaxy. There are almost no stars above me, and those that are are too far away to reach. The view is breathtaking. Should I drop down, or pioneer around? The heart and soul nebulae are a bit too far away for my taste, especially from this place.
I'd like to see a screenshot, I imagine the whole galaxy just hanging there etc 
A bunch of interesting things have been mentioned recently. All the corporations are heavily investing in R&D and a new startup called MetaDrive Inc is working on FSD enhancements? Think I know what's going on there

It's too far for me, but regarding the Rift update I'm wondering what might be hidden in the EAFOTS CO-R and R-OC sectors...based on Drew's hints about the 'core' of the problem, and 'Right On, Commander' etc etc. And Salome is not the only special NPC out there!
And as posted and almost certainly buried on the Canonn thread - anyone want to test a UA? I have one, but I'd like to think of a new test for it. UPs are still very hard to come by, until we know the 'easy way' to get hold of one. And intern Ed confirmed on the livestream that we also need to test UPs in different places, which I took to mean away from Merope.

If you want to find one yourself, I'm in the UA shell at Hyades Sector AB-W B2-2. 2 Anomaly Threat 4s with UAs found within 15 minutes of each other between B2-2 5 and 6. Thanks to the Commander who mentioned this system being worth a look, apologies I've forgotten your name. It's populated with Federal military, and the outpost 'Pre Logistics Support Delta'. It sells Articulation Motors, Micro-Weave Cooling Hoses, and Magnetic Emitter Coils, if that's useful.
Some other interesting finds in the system so far.
1. Distress Call Threat 4 - stranded Farragut battlecruiser. Nothing new in itself, these have been in-game for over a year, but after the first 2 wings of pirates, an Elite pirate Farragut, called the Orion, shows up to join the fight. That was new to me.
2. Two High Grade emissions signals within minutes of each other, not seen many of those to date. Both contained Core Dynamics and Proprietary composites. These used to occasionally appear in Encoded Emissions signals.
3. Found a whole Anaconda wreck (apart from laser scorch marks) in an Encoded Emission source along with a private data beacon in a station corridor-type wreck - obtained Datamined Wake Scans. Last words on the msg, "What the...."
Have pics of the above if you want more info.
For a UA on the ground, try Izanami A4a and find the crashed Anaconda at Lat / Long: -2.26 / 145.13"

So I've seen some Gamescom stuff, and there is definitely something alien, green, and not very friendly out there! I'll be joining 'the hunt' starting on the 28th. The decoded binary from David Braben's Day 4 interview:

Greetings - just recently acquired the game and looking for a solid group to join. Haven't really gotten started in game, so not sure what to expect. Been reading up on lore and all that. Planning on going into exploration as a main. If I may ask a couple questions:
1) Do you guys have a private group as well as open play, or just open?
2) I know y'all have TS - do you use Discord as well?

This is a relaxed group of independent pilots, explorers mostly so people are just out doing their thing and sharing info here. The Canonn and Rift threads are popular and have related bigger groups. Also, some players are on xbox.
We don't have our own private group yet, but I'd be happy to create one and use it if there's interest. I change modes depending what I'm doing, and how risky the area is
No Discord sorry, there's an Enjin forum and website, but this thread and in-game are the best ways to stay in touch for now. I did have a look at Slack for chat and Trello for organising all kinds of planning and tasks, both are good I've used them before. So maybe in the future!
