Krait to rival Python?

I agree. I like the SLF and of course if people don't want one they can easily put something else in that slot. No need to ruin it for everyone else.

Same here.

Right now, if I want to go and have some yucks with my SLF pilot, my choices are limited to the FGS or, erm, doing something else entirely.
The FGS' jump-range is dreadful so it's not really a ship you can use as a daily-driver and it doesn't really have the slots to allow it to be configured as a multirole ship.

I just want the Krait to be a ship I can do a bit of everything in and fit an SLF for the yucks.
Without the SLF bay, it's immediately going to be compared to the AspX and it'll need some other damned impressive redeeming feature to convince me to use it instead of an AspX.

Yep, same here. I have a FGS but I really do not like the ship. I have tried, but just don't like it. So I am really hoping the Krait is a good Keelback upgrade. And we need more SLF capable ships as the only medium one that isn't rank locked is the keelback which is limited due to size. Something bigger, closer to the Python with a SLF bay is very much needed.

I like the FGS but even I want something... else. So I would definiately use the Krait if it had one.

Maybe at the low end. But for medium it's the FDL and large it's the Cutter and Corvette.

Python is hands down the overall best medium ship imo, and while the Anaconda falls short on best large cargo ship, it is the best explorer (large or not) while still running neck to neck with large combat ships.

Perhaps I should have said they make the most imbalanced ships instead of best in class.

The cockpit strikes me as being a bit "Core Dynamics" or, possibly, "Lakon".

I really, really, REALLY hope it doesn't end up being a CD ship cos it seems like every ship they produce has a dire jump-range.

If it turns out to have a poor jump range, I'll be sticking with my engineered 50ly Python for my next exploration adventure when part 4 of Beyond goes live.
