laGrange clouds

Found a pair of PLG’s in two separate systems within 100ly of each other.
Thats after having been out exploring for the last few weeks (around 28,000ly).

Was starting to think I wouldn’t find any but there you go....

All the PLG’s have peduncle trees and pods, and are around 4kylies or so from the nearest nebula.
The pods fart themselves away from you if you nudge them, and leave a bit of unscannable poo behind.

Only other thing of note that I’ve found have been bark mounds also.

Anyone have any theories as to why these Proto clouds seem to spawn in clumps or certain areas?

For the record, even before finding those clouds, I’m really enjoying the new mechanics... I only meant to go on a short shakedown hop in the new Phantom, but now find myself thousands of light years away and thinking of going beyond each new destination point!

Where is guardian Space. please? Is it that area where most of the Guardian missions pointed to?
That's the main area, yes. Smaller ones, only containing a handful of ruins (not structures nor beacons) can be found around some distant nebulae, you can use the Codex to look these up. See the regions Empyrean Straits, Inner Scutum-Centaurus Arm, Norma Expanse, Outer Orion Spur, Temple.

In other news, while running around mapping some stuff I discovered earlier, I came across a Proto-Lagrange Cloud as well. Well, technically two, in the same system. Had nothing but metallic crystals, but the system itself was a pretty interesting one: five stars, separated into three "micro-systems", AB, CDE and one lone icy planet orbiting far away as ABCDE 1, orthogonal to the rest. I always like these far-off wanderers.
System was still in the Inner Orion Spur, North-Western part though. While I was on my way to the Little Gem nebula, there weren't any nearby. Still some ways off the plane (relative to the area), but that was about it. Just a random encounter I almost missed.

It's odd - I have only found Bark Mounds once... But my bane was Brain Trees :)

Found a few PLC & LC's in various places but have not found anything more exotic than 3 types of Metallic Crystals & Molluscs :( Still looking though. Bio life seems like USS's plenty near the bubble(s) but rare outside, probably done near 15Kly on latest trip without a single Bio.

I found lots of Bio outside the bubble near (ironically) the Bubble nebula and NGC 7538. Maybe the bio feeds on pretty colours.

Other nebs might yield the same results. Maybe try one which is closer/convenient for you?

Maybe you already have? Where you at?

In the middle of the Norma Expanse about 1KLy above plane and heading vaguely NW of galactic centre. Been through the Eagle Nebula (found a cloud 2 jumps from Eagles Landing) and nearly at the next nebula which I can't remember the name as not back in game yet

Once I 'arrive' I might point toward the bubble nebula, anywhere/everywhere is of interest to this tourist [yesnod]

If you've never been, you should definitely go. Took one of my favourite screenies there just after Horizons launched.

It's very bubblicious.

I discovered a "proto" legrange cloud along with some odd looking crystalline things not too far from the bubble. I got a message saying it added it to the codex, so you should be able to find it there. I think I was only 600ly or so out, I'm now around 2kly and heading back (I just nipped out for a quick trip to try the new mechanics). The cloud was the only thing I found out of the ordinary, lots of icy planets with various types of geysers (silicone vapour being the most interesting I thought), a few quasars that may have gone into the codex. Definitely more enticing than my last jaunt out to the heart and soul nebulas.

Remember Lagrange clouds don't need to be near Nebula's. Look at Prie Aod CG-N C7-2 system. That has a LaGrange Cloud and the closest Nebula is Flyai Flyuae AA-A H20 which is pretty far away. So you don't have to focus on just nebula's to find them at all. Think it's more luck and randomness how they're placed, though it could be more the outer sectors that have more...

I have totally given up on this. Its just too depressing not being able to find a single bloody thing (other than bark mounds and geysers). As far as I am concerned, this exploration mechanic is a big fail. :(

It was supposed to make finding things easier and improve quality of life. From what i personally have experienced its not done that for me.

There is a good reason why these phenomoen are found quickly in the bubble and colonia. The concentration of pilots flying around in a relatively small space will find all of these things quickly.

One person flying around in the same space could take a long time. In the bubble especially, it could take one person months to find a Lagrange cloud. But as there are over a 100,000 players it won't do. Only out in the black will you struggle to find stuff due to the vast scale of the galaxy.

I hope this is the explanation.
There's always the suspicion of FDEV putting things close to bubble & colonia and nowhere else - until proven false.

I get the feeling some specific nebulae are hot-spots for L-clouds, but otherwise they're very rare everywhere else.

Agreed that the number of eyeballs in the bubble and Colonia corridor makes it look like there's a lot there. I think over time we'll find a lot of interesting things elsewhere, but pilots in the outer reaches of the galaxy are themselves more rare too.

Last night and today I made a quick trip from Veil to Crescent nebulas and then back across towards the bubble.

There were two systems (Bleae Thaa RB-Y B1-4 & Col 359 Sector OF-P B35-6) which both had two instances of Proto-Lagrange clouds which included Rubeus, Flavus and Purpureus metallic crystals.

Other than that the first encounter I had was in Taurus Dark Region RD-T B3-1 which had both Roseus and Viridis clouds.

I thought I finally found one last night. In the bubble of all places.....

Decided to go grab a mug made from FSD plating. Arrived in system and.... Lagrange. Whohoo!
Turns out to be the name of a gas giant <sigh>

Found Ostrinum & Viride Peduncle Tree's today in a near-by system.

Tree's and Candidum Peduncle Pod's in another system. Rubellum in a third.
