So there's LOTS of planets and moons we can land on that are real cool, some of 'em super tiny with volcanism geysers and you can go orbital in SRV or even super high gravity behemoths that will KILL you on sight.... and this got me thinking.
well known planet at KOI 1701 has a staggering 45.31g's and is "landable"...so our ships are pretty tuff huh??? They can handle some serious punishment...
Well I was just plotting the next jump for my carrier arriving at Colonia, and was checking nearby uninhabiteds for a place to park, and I settled on the nearby EOL PROU LW-L C8-68 and was checking out its only planetary body, a Class I Gas Giant and noticed it's barely pulling 2.56 G and with an orbital distance of 9069 ls (nice) its got a nice cool surface temp at 77K. (dangerously low temperature, but manageable I think so)
Do y'all see where I'm going with this?? Hypothetically, this here Gas Giant 'could' be a 'water-based life' or 'ammonia-based life' planet----and there might lie some interest to go investigate. wink It's said that Gas Giants do in fact have a planetary core, we just have yet to see it. So imagine being able to land on what amounts to a basic high G planet but you get to do it completely BLIND
now THATS DANGEROUS!! But hey, you know somebodies got a prismo anaconda decked out with engineered class A boosters that could handle it easily.
Frontier if your reading this I want to sincerely thank you. Elite Dangerous is the greatest game I have ever owned, truly. If something really bad happens in the future and you can't make updates anymore I will understand, but I beg you to just keep this game alive somehow. My wish is to have another 30 years of service so when my little bro grows up I can show him this LEGEND and he'll get a chance to watch it evolve as I had. This game will absolutely age like fine wine.
