Last post. Pay attention if you will.

Hi everyone.

I'm tired. Braben and his company created a wonderful procedural universe.
And then proceeded to slap some sugar coat over it.
He made a cake a mm thick, thousands of km wide and a mile high. With nothing in the middle. This is the eqilivent to handing a guy a paintbrush and a single can of paint. And asking him to paint the world.
He does not understand the significance of what he created.
I begged him to ask universities for some help. I was totally ignored. Crowdsourcing perhaps.
At the very least, after the first day of release, he should have gone down the road that NMS went down with organic invention. And have created procedural lifeforms to fill it up.
BECAUSE IT IS A PROCEDURAL GAME.
But nope. Keep lovely folks like Sally there with the paintbrush, and sit on your expecting nobody to realize this.
I know what this is.

What is it then?
A conspiracy?
They actively went out of their way to screw edo up?
No....
Of course not.
The marketeers got their way wanting millions of subs.
Didn't happen in fact it backfired.
Now their having to pick up the pieces and run with it.
And l must say! Its coming along nicely

It took almost the full team over two years working on nothing else to make EDO, does it seem like they are rushing?
Even a barrel of monkeys is right twice a day, but I suspect Frontier substituted with fish for practicality. 🧐

Live at Frontier Head Courtiers (tribute)...

Considering a lot of the issues at launch were the same as those experienced and raised by the community in Alpha... I would say Yes, it was rushed. It's not really about the amount of time, it's about getting the thing working and functioning properly. If it takes a few more years to perfect then they are better off taking their time doing that than trying to hurry in fixes that don't work and / or break other parts of the game.

You've had some good times Gypsy, I had fun looking for crashed Thargoid ships with you years ago in Merope, and still remember recalling out ships & watching mine survive the crash & yours exploding  You faced the certainty of being stranded with good grace & asked me to destroy your SRV ;)

I think you have been frustrated for a long time, and like a lot of others in the community, have grown tired of waiting.

I don't think leaving either the game or the forum is something that needs to be announced publicly, but I hope you will remember the good times and keep an eye on the game progress on the off-chance that some future update or event motivates you to return.

And if you don't, well I know we had fun & mucking about with you chasing tin-foil hat theories and I'm sure you have plenty of other stories of your own to remember ;)

It could be that in the vast majority of cases it isn't announced publicly, what we see is the tip of the iceberg.
