Horizons Lave 2 Permit

I have been doing a string of missions for the Lave Radio Network over the last week to build up some rep with them and have been having a blast. Not the most profitable missions but they have been fun.

I gained a mission to deliver cargo to one of the planet side bases on Lave 2. I thought "wow, this must be the mission to give me the permit" as Lave 2 is marked as red, permit required.

I got to the planet fine, set course to the mission base and once within about 250km of the surface kept getting a message saying "Landing not permitted". There was an invisible barrier which would not let me get closer to the planet and therefore I have to abort the mission.

Is there a way of getting this permit or is it a case that the planet is locked off as part of Elite lore. If you cant get a permit then the mission might have been a bug.

If anyone has any information on this I would be most appreciative. I have searched the forum but cant find much about Lave 2

Many thanks in advance,
CMDR Flaxton

I've just had exactly the same problem with a Lave Radio mission to Chern Terminal - I thought that this was supposed to be fixed now?

Odd...

I found this Planet Permit-Locked during the V2.0 beta - only for it to become "unlocked" again in the Release Version.
Almost seems like a "Construction in progress" for some Planetary Asset that the Devs need to keep Players away from (i.e. Server-side Assets only, not on Client -> Client would disgracefully crash if it tried to load the non-existing assets).

Other than that, there's the old Galnet story about it ( Where's Walden now? )...

Since 3265, the government has released no evidence of hidden scientific laboratories on Lave or any of the plotted asteroids in the system. Rumours of a secret colony on Lave II have never been confirmed, either, but the rumours keep resurfacing.

Same problem here. Running missions for WORKERS OF LAVE LIBERALS. I believe that a permit for Lave 2 should come from them.

I thought Lave 2 was permanently locked like Earths moon in the sol system as it's being use for future content. May be wrong though...

Gotta be someone to get anything done. I'd like to request a lock on all the engineers planets.

Yep. Welcome to the world of FDEV player favouritism (at least in this case though, it's justified).

Not good here. I just started Alliance Missions and am just Friendly. Took a mission and on the way I was re-directed to Lave 2/Navigator Terminal.
Since I can't land I'm gonna end up with 60 units of stolen items, unless I abandon quest for a Rep hit. Well. Either way I'll get the Rep hit cause not gonna be able to complete this mission.

Just been offered (but not taken) a Strategic Data Transfer mission to Navigator Terminal on Lave 2. Wondered if there was a way to unlock it and found this post is the most redirected to.

Seems something should be done with removing the planet from the rotation if it is going to be permalocked for the forseeable future :/

This permit had already called my attention but never needed so I didn't investigated the matter.

The game began in this system seems to me I don't know the history of the game but I have seen some references to that effect.

The conspiracy theory can think of everything, can be anything. For us it was good it was a Area 51 in Elite [where is it][alien]

What should happen: Unlock the planets.

What should happen: FDev removes these missions from game.

What will happen: Nothing!
Something will happen.
But it will take time. and there is a high chance there will be no communication about it.

I love FD and ED. but I hate the lack of communications and how when something major happens we get no info.

I got two delivery Missions for Lave2 the other day.
I guess I have to dump the coffee into orbit and hope they drop on the station.

BTW there is a transmit satelite in that orbit. I cant seam to interact with... very odd.

Still not fixed, huh?

Lave:Revolution (I need to read it, one of these days...) is apparently intended to be part of a trilogy, so I wouldn't expect the planet to be unlocked until at least the next book, but one would think it could (should) be marked ineligible as a mission destination. :7
