Lavecon 2017

Frontier have also said that they will be providing more details on the upcoming 2.4 development work but what they will be able to say at this time is lost to me.

Yeah, but i don't expect they to say much there, they wil probably keep most of the news for the better known gamercon, which is also much closer to the likely release of 2.4

I'ts a fan organised convention, in Nottingham, England. some parts will be streamed (they have been in the past) but as it is spread over 2 full days, not everything gets streamed.

Too far :-( We need a similar such event in the Northeast US :)

As has often been said on the Lave Radio podcast, if USA fans of ED want an event then they "just" need to organise it. That's all Lavecon is, a bunch of fans who started a podcast, then asked if anyone wanted to meet for a beer one year ... and it just grew from there. And it should be noted that Frontier have nothing to do with the event other than recognising that it's great fun which has grown into something big and agreeing to attend and do a stint on the timetable. So there's really no one stopping the USA from getting such an event, it's more a question of someone starting it. The Lave Radio team have also said that they'd be more than willing to help advise anyone who wanted to do such a thing on what's involved and how to go about it. Of course the big problem is "where" in the US ... I hear it's a big place! :p

I can't remember her name, but the girl that is doing the lion's share of organising this year's Lave Con has said that she would be more than willing to do something similar in the US if someone would pay for her airfare / accommodation.

Karen, and yes ... I heard that too. I'm not sure what she'd do if someone called her bluff tho! I suspect organising one Elite convention a year is enough for anyone! :D

Lavecon, Gamercon, Comicon... Too many cons! There is only one "con" matters:

I'll save her the trouble - someone pay my airfare and accommodation, and I'll come to Lavecon Proper. Win, win!!! :D
