Horizons Leaving game before ship destroyed

This issue was already hashed out ad nauseam 6 months ago when the combat logging update came out. Seriously...this is getting stupid. I don't even know why I am bothering with this reply. The BGS has been a part of this game for a long time. Even before I joined up. Every player has an impact on the BGS. And the BGS influences EVERY player. I can't claim to give anything specific about how it works, but it controls galactic markets, booms, busts, wars, the whole enchilada. Even a small change is still a change. Those small changes add up over time.

FD has already implemented their system of logging out. At least the way you're supposed to log out. You have options available that don't involve combat logging. Get a different ship, use a different load out, figure out a strategy. There are resources at your disposal that you are not utilizing. I have a python, and I haven't lost an interdiction that I have decided to fight.

Bottom line: this issue is over 6 months old. FD is not likely going to change things. Use what is at your disposal to deal with interdictions without forcefully closing the game. Make sure that your hardware isn't causing this problem. Just because this happened doesn't mean that FD is to blame.

Stop stressing mike just change your technique when your in trouble high wake just preset a system to jump in advance, them you only wait 15sec and you don,t have to combat log it,s a win win for you.

Fly safe be prepared.

Most players don,t like the concept of combat logging it,s always been a contentions issue hence the arguments your getting on the forum, If Fdev could find a way to stop it without bans they would so best you move forward without it and bearing in mind there is an alternative whats the point...

If it is taking 30 sec then thats sounds like a great way to stamp it out.

Before I got used to High wake I used to combat log if I was in real trouble. I never had double log problem. It seems this is a problem at your end not server side.
I have been killed with a second left on clock once.. You have to wait for the button to open after 15 seconds.Takes 1 or 2 seconds at most. Then click once..
If you were spamming the exit you may have caused something to happen at your end controller-wise.

BTW no need to shout at us we hear you. Don't take your anger out on the people in the forum.

My 2 cents as a newbie to this thread is that I had had to resort to "combat logging" exactly twice during the two months I've played the game (both in 2.1). In both cases an NPC pirate materialized out of nowhere and interdicted me--first in an A-rated Vulture and now a B-rated Python with max shields and hull upgrades. My shields and thrusters have been knocked out under 1 second by a "Dangerous" ASP and then the hull strength started dropping rapidly then I had waited 15 seconds and punched out hoping to have retained enough hull strength to survive the encounter, reboot the ship, and limp to the nearest station for emergency repair.

In my view these encounters represent bugs in the game and as far as I'm concerned it was a legitimate method to avoid ship destruction and/or eliminating a need for a support ticket. I understand Frontier said that these super NPCs with enhanced weapons have been fixed, but clearly this is not the case.

I only play Solo since I'm still learning the game. Normally I am able to evade or escape regular NPC interdictions relatively easy but these isolated instances do not leave many other options at my current level (both ship capability and skill level).

Here is the sure way to combat log, I've been using it in PVE situations. I've never done it in PVP because I only play in open with ships that I expect to lose (not my slow fat conda).

Start task manager before you start playing, to to process tab, sort by name
When you're in trouble in the game, ALT-TAB, select the elite dangerous client process and kill the task. Takes care of it instantly.

With the new 2.1 changes I should just write a tiny app that does this for people.

Sharky: Sorry to everybody for shouting.
Shar: I'm trying to hi-wake but it is a learning thing. So far lost a freighter and also hi-waked out once. I am getting there. (My brain has always been slower than my fingers) Thank you.
Virtualminion: That dropping in from nowhere might be a bug or not. Don't know.
lomac: I don't want to do these things. I want to learn the Hi-wake.

My gear is very good. sometimes I press a wrong button then I test to make sure it is me with my thinking looking out the window. It has always been my fault.

Maybe I should buy another sidewinder and practice losing it. (we all know that one set of keys need to be imprinted. That is, until you start a different game and lo and behold, pressing wrong buttons again)
