if you don't store the password in the first place you might create a new one on every login. the annoyance of this might be deterrent enough, even a sweet spot. then again a bit of digging in the back yard is healthy too ...

It's a discussion forum. If you can't cope with people disagreeing with you, or having different (sometimes drastically different) opinions and views than your own and you take that as "toxic" then yes, a discussion forum might not be the place for you.
