Let’s do the voting for the most wanted species???

Casting my vote for Meerkats.

I think either Meerkats, White/Black Rhino or Penguins of some species will win, easily

Edit: If we're doing our own top 10 wants, it's Moose, Wolverine, Black Rhino, Three Toed Sloth (or any Sloth species, really), Capybara, Common Wombat, North American River Otter (though the Small Clawed Asian would be fine as well), King Penguin (Emperor would be fine instead), African Leopard (Amur would be a good substitute though), and MEERKATS.

I'd count on penguins, meerkats, otters, white/black rhino being the most requested. Sloth is a runner-up, though I think many people lost hope after the SA DLC. And before their DLCs were released, kangaroo, koala, jaguar, and polar bear were the big ones.

I thought about it a lot and I think I would be able to narrow the list down to about 30 species.

And here comes the question I’ve been asking myself on and on: How should I choose between my personal favourites and what’s really possible and anticipated by the community???

I’ve decided to make a list of what’s most likely to happen in the next DLC’s and also included my personal favorites and ground birds but on the separate list.

1 African Rhino - I’d choose Southern White - They are totally different in appearance from Indian we already have and would make an amazing addition to Etosha inspired Gemsbok/Springbok habitat I already have. BTW Gemsbok and Springbok not being compatible in the game is more than stupid, right?
1603629846909.jpeg

2 Meerkat - I think that everyone will agree that there is no zoo without meerkats! They are not my personal favorites but I can’t take away the cuteness from them.
1603629745646.jpeg

3 Deer - I’d choose Pere David’s - they are extinct in the wild, has amazing story behind their rescue and their swamp loving behavior is extremely interesting. With giant deer antlers on the horse-like head, a donkey's tail and cow's hooves, the milu deer is a strange looking animal.
1603629714672.jpeg

4 Leopard - I’d choose Amur - they are the rarest big cats on earth and they appear in many zoo’s as their breeding program is quite expanded.
1603629658142.jpeg

5 Gibbon - I’d choose Lar - they are the most recognizable gibbon species and the fur differs between sexes.
1603629589314.jpeg

6 Moose - I’d choose Alaskan - mostly because they are the largest subspecies.
1603629440202.jpeg

7 Otter - I’d choose Giant amazon river - largest species, beautiful fur coloration and amazing social behaviors.
1603629406147.jpeg

8 Beaver - I’d choose European - there is a lack of European species and also after the WW2 beavers were nearly extinct and the way that they have been restored is just amazing.
1603629317620.jpeg

9 Lynx - I’d choose Eurasian - the fur coloration is way cuter from the bobcat and Canadian lynx also it’s bigger than Iberian so I decided it’s fair enough to choose Eurasian.
1603629270937.jpeg

10 Couguar - I’d choose Florida panther - it’s rare, very interesting and has the cutest cubs ever!
1603629931523.jpeg

11 Prarie dog - I’d choose Black-tailed - they are the biggest subspecies and watching their social behaviors is better than tv.
1603630036471.png

12 Ibex - I’d choose Alpine - I know that we already have Dall sheep but ibex have such distinct horns that they really can’t be missed. Also another European species.
1603630100899.jpeg

13 Wolverine - I’d choose North American - It is such an iconic species from the north known for being fearless and losing it’s temper very easily.
1603630126460.jpeg

14 Penguin - l’d choose African - love to watch them in zoo’s, also they can be kept in open habitats (Antarctic can not).
1603630151561.jpeg

15 Sea lion - I’d choose California - simply because it is the most popular in zoo’s. I hate the shows but really love to watch the feeding times.
1603630655710.jpeg

16 Fennec fox - highly mentioned and distinct from what we already have in the game.
1603630681661.jpeg

17 Capybara - I already planned a underwater viewing habitat for them. They are great zoo animals.
1603630719090.jpeg

18 Sloth 🦥 - I’d choose Brown throated - Let’s be clear here... everybody loves sloths and the game simply needs them.
1603630776630.jpeg

19 Peccary - I’d choose Collared - I really think that there is not enough Suidae in the game and collared peccaries live in so many different habitats (from rainforests to deserts).
1603630871219.jpeg

20 Emu - so many people would like to have them in the game and the sounds they make are crazy good.
1603630911581.jpeg

21 Przewalski horse - It was extinct in the wild and than restored with great success. Also we have only one horse in the game.
1603632084000.jpeg

22 Manned wolf - It’s not really a wolf so it won’t get wolf haters mad and it’s build so differently from the other Canines that it would make a great addition to the models we already have.
1603632153896.jpeg

23 Sun bear - I know it is another bear but it is tropical, tiny creature totally different from the bears we have in the game.
1603632187153.png

24 Clouded leopard - Very rare creature would make every cat lover very happy. It’s also a saber tooth closest relative, just saying.
1603632305318.jpeg

25 Coati mundi - Uniquely colored mammal with great social behaviors. Works great in every zoo.
1603632265264.jpeg

26 Kudu - I’d choose East cape greather - highly mentioned on forums and considered by many as the most wonderful african antelope.
1603635242125.jpeg

27 Porcupine - I’d choose African - many people mentioned porcupines. I’d say never too much rodents.
1603635099536.jpeg

28 Baboon - I’d choose Hamadryas - baboons work great in every zoo. I can remember rocky habitats that were made for them in the past.
1603635050442.jpeg

29 Wombat - I’d choose Bare nosed - they were missed from the Australian DLC and their behaviors are great. Also we miss smaller animals in the game.
1603635015026.jpeg

30 Takin - I’d choose Golden - one of the most iconic Asian species. Look like nothing else. Would really help in making Chinese zoo’s.
1603635322917.jpeg

SUM UP = 30 animals that this game really needs.

Some of them I really like and some of them were never my favorites, but looking at the zoo’s I have seen all of them would work great in the game.

On second thought you know what, I will give it a shot.

1. An African Rhino species, after getting Polar bears, Jaguars, and Koalas and Kangaroos this a staple of zoos that is currently missing.
2. Leopard (African since it is the most iconic, not the most popular in zoos, but the amur just looks like a friendly kitty and not a deadly predator)
3. Meerkat (this is it, if an animal needed inclusion in this game is the Meerkat.
4. An Asian small clawed otter (only if the get the mechanics correct, I need it to dive, swim, turn underneath the water)

5. Any and all bird species in the world 😁

11 Marabou
1603638338215.jpeg

12 Saddle billed stork
1603638362430.jpeg

13 Northern bald ibis

14 Japanese crane

15 Western capercaille

These are really tough choices as so many animals would be great to have in game. I’d love to see semi aquatic and aviary dlc introduced at some point in the games life. As well as a petting zoo dlc towards the very end. I will give you the top ten animals I personally see the most requested in game then my ten personal choices. I don’t think there are really any bad choices as long as wolves and brown bears don’t make there way into the game yet with the exception of the maned wolf. Anyway here are top ten requested imo.
1) Penguin 2)Otter 3) Meerkat 4) Gibbon 5) Black/white rhino 6) Capybara 7) Moose 8) Mountain lion 9) Maned wolf 10) Emu. These ten seem to be very heavily requested in the community I’m sure I forgot or missed one but oh well.
My top ten choices:
1) Penguin any subspecies
2) North American River Otter
3) Black/White Rhino (prefer white)
4) Meerkat
5) West Indian River Manatee
6) Gibbon any subspecies
7) Eurasian Lynx
8) Hamadryas Baboon
9) Grey Crown Crane
10) Moose any subspecies
Honorable mentions: Sun Bear, pelican, musk ox,puma,Secretary bird and too many to list. Almost impossible to choose just ten.

I really like the musk ox idea :)

Leopard (African since it is the most iconic, not the most popular in zoos, but the amur just looks like a friendly kitty and not a deadly predator)

I admittedly don't get what you're referencing, they both just look like big cats to me! ;)

1603691223099.png

1603691463531.png

I'd be happy with either of them.

Animals that I had really expected to be in the base game were (any species of) Penguin and the Moose!
Aside from adding European animals because of basically no representation, those would be at the very top of my want list.

Some other favorites I would want in there would be the Clouded Leopard (which I got to know through ZT1 :) ) and Meerkats. And then many more after that. The world has so many wonderful animals to offer. :)

to me it might be...
Babyrusa, Sumatran tiger, Amur Leopard i think any one of those list
oh and otters my preference asian small clawwed otters
or more turtle species like Box Turtles
exhibit animal to me ball python

Check this out - for me they just as fearless as the African subspecies 😃

That is a good picture, maybe he/she was a little angry, lol. They are both magnificent, the thing is that overall the Amur leopard is a little more fluffy, and in my experience watching them almost daily during a project, their appearance and behavior at times can be a little less fearless if that is the word, (not sure that it is) than the African subspecies. A keeper at the San Diego Zoo explained to me, that their movement and behavior are slightly different, because of the different environments they have adapted to. When you take into account that this is a virtual game, as amazingly talented as the Frontier artists are, they are human, and will have to work with what is presented to them, so there is a high percentage chance that the Amur Leopard end up looking very similar anatomically (for game purposes this would affect their body structure, muscular composition and overall appearance) to the Snow Leopard.

The African Leopard in the other hand has no comparable cat in the game, there are no visible similarities with any other cat in the current roster. Their habitat needs would be primed to complete our African savannah exhibits, the Amur in the other hand would be a stand alone species, that would definitely be interesting because of its conservation status, but not necessarily their habitat requirements (this is of course subjective, as it does not mean the same to each player, many would be happy to replicate a southeastern Russian or Northern Chinese environment) What many zoos have ended up doing is building African themed exhibits that instead of an African Leopard hold Amur leopards for conservation purposes, that would be a bit of an extreme in the game, since the Amur would not behave like the African. African leopards have a slightly more slender built body, and it allows them to be a lot more agile, going up trees and just resting there. (They have this iconic poses that they are known for, becoming one of the most photographed big cats in the world by professionals) Perfect time for frontier to add African tree trunks with sprawling branches, maybe a broken/dead acacia or lifelike replica of this tree.

Ideally we would get both species, but with the very limited amount of content (animal wise) that Frontier has released in the first year of the game, it is questionable that this will ever change, I'm hope/pray that I'm wrong.
