Let's make a "Quality of life improvements" list for FDevs

Please add a free cargo space indicator next to the #used/#total indicator. Hate having to use calculator when excepting multiple missions. This info should also be visible in missions screen not just cargo screen.
 
Please Please Please make binding menus work like in DCS where pressing a button jumps to the function it is bound too.
 
Make it possible to store a module remotely eg in Colonia store a module on a ship in the bubble so that you can then transfer it.

Hologram projects a square of light on the ground, so we can see visually if we are under the cargo hatch of the really big ships.

Thrusters for assisted climbing.
We got thrusters, can't we "boost" forward - W.E. Coyote ACME style.

I've been getting stuck in recent months, (out of practice?), but sometimes it feels llike you got thrusters holding you down to a surfaces, but we could angle those thrusters to drive vertically up the sides of the near vertical slopes, (instead of when you hit the Vertical thrusters you go perpenduicular to the the surface you are on, which if you are trying to climb out and crest the side of a ravine.
Sure a grappling hook and tow cable might do the trick, but we got those trusters, we couldn't just use them like a jet-propelled boost in our current forward direction?

(or is this why we can turn driving assist off, and I've missed this for like 3 years now).
 
A minor thing, it might have been mentioned already, the new squadron award bobble head, the running laser effect for the hologram is a bit to overwhelming (to me at least) and distracts quite a bit. It attracts my eyes constantly. I wish it could be toned down. Don't remove the effect, just don't make is to high contrast or "flickery".
 
Slow down is not an instruction. It's telling you that your FSD is slowing down due to your proximity to a gravity well.
PID
On my system it means that the speed control PID has failed and is locked up. It will not follow the throttle .Steer round whatever is rushing up on you and then loop the loop when the red light goes out. cos where you want to go is now BEHIND YOU....

Engineering...

Have a button "Roll as high as I can" that will automatically use all materials available to max out a module in one step or take it as high as you have materials for.

General

Reduce clicking. I.e. Trade missions, give me a 'load all cargo' button.

Outfitting...

Show the special effect on the item without having to go to 'modifications'.

Make the hardpoints animations optional, what a waste of time.
