Then it should be renamed to simply African lion, then, right? It'd be much simpler, more flexible
IMO yes, and I'd do the same to the Formosan BB, but I doubt Frontier will ever change it.

how about adding the red deer and the fallow deer? the red deer is atleast in europe not uncommon, but not nearly as close to the baffling stupid amount of presence the fallow deer has. I would vote fallow deer btw

Well, I know it's only an anecdote and not the rule, but My Local Zoo™ has 6 "exotic" species and just 5 "realistic" species, so I don't fully agree on the categories of that list 
I specially disagree with the tapirs, not only Baird's is endangered and objectively less common, but there are only 2 zoos in Europe with them, and +150 zoos with Brazilian tapirs... I know in the US there are more zoos with Baird's than Brazilian, but I'm not sure if in such a disproportionate ratio to think that Brazilian is the less realistic choice (and I know even less about tapirs on others zoos worldwide).
