Let's play: Reverse animal roster

Although it has it’s flaws I really like the base game roster as it is.

I would only exchange Himalayan brown bear for Sloth or Spectacled bear in it.

Also I have no idea why Deluxe pack contain only 3 and not 5 animals so I would add my most wanted animal the Red River hog to that along with Plumed basilisk as the exibit animal and I would be content.

Yeah, the deluxe is not interesting at all, especially for the price. Only three animals?

I did buy deluxe, but that's because I preordered and wanted to play beta. In hindsight it wasn't worth it beta was only 3 weeks, and only 3 extra animals. Oh well.

What makes up the deluxe pack is the wallpapers and the soundtrack. Personally I got it for the animals only when it was on sale; I don't really use the wallpapers/soundtrack

The komodo dragon and pygmy hippo are favorites of mine, and without a gazelle safari habitats feel weird.

But tbh, while i often throw shade on the gazelle, i agree.
They are very iconic animals and its good to have variance in our choices for gazelled.
Both look very different, have different ranges and the springbock also has thr desert biome, so having both is more then cool in my book.

Yeah but one more habitat plus one exibit animal would make it much more complete. Even if it would be a clone like Masai giraffe or Asiatic lion.

I love them too, but what was it, 11 euro for 3 animals is not appealing

I think a deluxe edition should have a larger selection of animals to make it worthwhile after release (post beta).

The Springbok isn't an actual gazelle, and it's way too big, but they are related and look similar.

I'd really like it if they had added a tropical macaque to it.

Yeah, the deluxe edition seemed like a fitting opportunity to throw in another primate, given how we still desperately need a lot more of them. Lion-tailed macaque or a langur would seem absolutely perfect to me, plus one exhibit animal and you have a pretty solid 4+1 pack, with the Komodo Dragon and the Pygmy Hippo already being two of my favorites in the game anyway.

I wouldn't want the game without the deluxe animals, but with that price tag it does seem like a missed opportunity.
