i am so amazed at how much creativity went into this map! Did you plan everything out or just keep building as you went along?

Thanks!

I would say it was a combination of both. I had a general idea of how I wanted to layout the park, and I planned specific sections of the park. The tricky part was trying to figure out where those planned sections were going to be. It was almost like putting together a puzzle. I'd work on one section at a time, then evaluate what the next available space was and decide what section would work best in that space.

I ended up having to change a lot of my original concepts as I worked through the map because of map limitations and available space. For example, I originally thought about having the Mosasaurus lagoon on the left side of the T-Rex Kingdom (large circular enclosure), but there wasn't enough space. I also thought I might have more room after I added the Aviary Hill section, but I didn't, so I had to scrap some enclosure ideas.

I did have set sections that I knew were mandatory and kind of used them as a starting point. Like I knew I wanted to have the park's main square shortly after coming through the entrance. I knew I wanted to have a large plaza and the T-Rex kingdom behind the visitor center. I also knew I wanted to have a large central lake/lagoon with a beach for my hotels to wrap around on the lower part of the map.

amazing work, mate.

I'm new round these parts, just picked up the game. Someone advised I come and check out your park though, so here I am.

Do you by any chance have a video walkthrough as well, please?

Hey,

Thanks! Im glad you liked the build.

I’ve been working on a video tour. It was put hold for a bit because the Biosyn Update glitched and wouldnt let me load my save. Through, through Frontiers solid support team, my file’s been recovered. I’ll be able to finish up the tour soon and get it posted.

I also plan to post the save file to the Nexus page for others to be able to download.

Unfortunately, I do not have a full video walkthrough of building the park directly, but I’d be happy to provide any pointers. Feel free to message me on Discord.

Thanks.
I have not started the game yet, but when I do I imagine I should start out small as to not go bankrupt. If i have any questions though, I will come and find you.

Jurassic Park: Isla Adventura

Taking a break from my geographical series of parks, I managed to get around to finish the first sandbox park I started! I was encountering a bug that meant my Jurassic Tour wasn't recognising an aviary as a "fence" to go through, but after fiddling, demolishing, ajusting and rebuilding I got it to work!

Enjoy!

After a short descent from the arrival pad, visitors are greeted to a gorgeous vista across the lagoon. The Visitor Centre section is mainly inspired by concept art for universal Islands of Adventure, hence the name! The lodge island is inspired by very early Jurassic World concept art.
