Let's talk about a third otter

Well, if we'd get a new otter it probably will be for the "clone" spot. And I can't really see a sea otter, which probably would need a whole new rig, getting this spot, at least if it shouldn't end as with the black rhino. So Eurasian otter would be fine for me, but I wouldn't really need it.

Marine Otter instead?
If they are even kept in any Zoos nowadays

Marine Otter instead?
Is this species being kept by any zoo?
I think the spot we are missing is an otter from Temperate climate, which can be occupied by the marine otter, but still, I somehow think that NA river or Eurasian would be better options. The neotropical otter could also fit in the clone spot, but would take a similar spot to the giant otter, the smooth-coated the spot of the Asian small-clawed, and the African otters are basically gone from Western zoos (with the exception of Eurasian, of course).
So, my preference is still Eurasian.

sea otter could easily star a pack and get its own modified rig i think

It seems that the North America river otter is the most popular animal mod. How would you feel if it was the anniversary animal for this year?

Honestly I still think we need the sea otter, one of the more popular species that would work in game that we don't have yet. They'd be very different from the other otters we have currently and would be great for colder areas too.

Even though I don't think it is necessary per se, I would like a more typical "normal-sized" otter considering we currently have the biggest and smallest (with sea otter being in a league of its own really if it was added because of how different is is). As for which species, I'm not sure... I'm torn between the Eurasian Otter since its so common and would be nice for temperate zoos and the Smooth-Coated Otter as I think it would be cool to make a Ganges Delta habitat for them with fishing boats and such... Honestly why not just give us a bunch of otters I don't think I'd complain. 😅

I wouldn’t mind a sea otter but I could live without it also. I used to wish for the North American river otter which obviously is extremely popular here in US zoos but now I could do without. Every other species seems to much like a clone animal. In terms of clones with visual differences of course as very few animals are truly a one to one clone I’d rather have a Sumatran tiger, asiatic lion, zebra, giraffe, or Nile crocodile. But everyone’s clone type animals vary.

North American river otter or bust. Especially if a "slide" enrichment item (usable by them, as well as the other otter species and seals) were added.

Sea otters are cute and cool too but... Wouldn't be anywhere near as fun to build for, IMHO.

we already have two river otters, so i am thinking a sea otter habitat will probably be more unique to make
but slides would be very fun to play with and build for all otter species, but i don't think a third river otter should be a prerequisite for it
although i wouldn't mind a na or eu river otter as an anniversary animal or later dlc animal (like a few years later if support continues)

When I last posted on this thread, I said if we got content into 2023 I'd be interested in a third otter. I still am, as I think a non-tropical otter would allow for a biome variety - Eurasian or North American River Otters in particular. Though when planning out thoughts on pack ideas for just 2 or even 4 pack, I don't really have a place marked for another otter.

Still, I wouldn't be opposed to a non-tropical otter. I guess it's kind of like the penguins for me where I'd still want the Little Blue Penguin. Great to get, but definitely not necessary and not even a priority.

Sea otter is a very cute animal, would be a great addition, got the two other otters in the zoo I am working on.
And to answer someone above, they are kept in some Zoo

I'd love a sea otter!! (and the north american river otter would be nice to, but literally just because north american animals are my favorite and I always miss a fitting otter :D )
