Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

The Federal Navy still has control of the "skies", we could see a scorched earth withdraw, or even a direct assualt to destroy Hartsfield station. (Which would be akin to nuking a major city)

It depends on how much political pressure is building on President Halsey to call an armistice and open peace talks.

Be vigilant.

(We still don't know what Frontiers plans for the war are)
The Federation would also need to defend the skies of Khaka. I managed to intercept a few thousand tons of military equipment over the last three days and managed to "convince" most of the traders to sell their stuff at Balandin gateway instead, even without a CG, as the threat of death was considerably lower while the profit was the same. I've never seen Fed players attempt to do the same as I delivered like 25k tons to the two Goibnu's Gifts CGs.

I wonder if FD has a statistic as to how many weapons were lost due to ship destruction in Lugh and Khaka

That's very correct, the Feds didn't try and run any kind of supply interdiction campaign.

It should have been unlimited submarine warfare sinking all non-Fed escorted merchant shipping, instead they ignore the ships hauling millions of tonnes of supplies and focus on "clearing the skies of infidel" - The whole point of achieving naval or air superiority in a real war is to disrupt and destroy enemy supply lines while maintaining your own.

Of course it does nothing from shifting players to solo, but in future I hope to see opposing community goals where you can at least sink NPC shipping to "offset" the supply goals.

Worth noting that as we celebrate, khaka mission is still active... Does somebody knows how close feds are from completion ?
Anyone else had the 4M donation mission?

Well got home from work just now and see operation dallahan was a success!!!!! Wish I had got into this sooner than a few days ago, twas so much fun. Congrats everyone and to those that helped make this test happen.

Might not be much to some of you but then I have very few play sessions in so I am quite happy to have went from 50k or so to 3mil! Going to make my way to founder world and look into buying a cobra, will be a good upgrade from a sidey I think.

What else can be done in lugh?

I got offered a 4 mil mission..I barely had 4.1 mil in the bank at the time....it was very vague in the description...like Im just gonna give a faction all of my moneys...really?

Anyways...what is this mission about...what were the benefits of giving up 4 mil...would I get a nice shiny ride atleast?

Such a sad day, Lugh has become a dictatorship :( I feel sorry for the people of Lugh, they will now see the true cruelty of CSG :( People of Lugh, I'm sorry I couldn't help you anymore than what I did, being in the top 5% for all of the Feds community goals just wasn't enough..... I'm sorry.......

considering our ongoing comunity goal lughs spear, i was thinking, if we would regain controll of the skies, if we can accomplish it?

the guesses made so far sounded like it was a win or loose gameplay in competing goals, but an actual conflict would be more dynamic wouldnt it?

I have no idea... It was about war, about money and CSG in need. I gave the 4M ^^ (still 1M benefit from trading CG )

For the pure combat pilots, if I may point out that given your relatively low rates of income compared to a certain other career path, the fact that you complete it might get you a few more credits in rewards ;)

Other than that, it's probably futile to speculate - instead, experiment. Finish it off as quickly as you can. If it does have an impact on the situation in Lugh that's a bonus.

We also need to find out how FD will address the devastation of influence suffered by both CSG and LFE due to the wartime influence bug. The net result of this has been to rocket Silver Naturals into a boom and 90% influence. Note that this is also a Federation faction. The political situation in Lugh is therefore far from stable, even if we have actually "won the war" and there's nothing more to come from the Federation itself. We may have to laboriously work our way back up again, this time against Silver Naturals rather than LFE, in order to stabilize the system and prevent our stations from coming under attack by a second resurgent Federation faction which would leave us vulnerable to losing control of the system again. We know how to do that but right now in terms of "system influence" we may be in control of the joint but we are not in a strong position.

We can afford a night of celebration but after that we're going have to go back to work.

Crimson State Group Announces Free Kitten for Every Settler

In what has been described as a master stroke in public relations, a new government program is now in effect whereby cute, fluffy kittens are being given away by the truckload.

Eager citizens are reportedly lining up around the block to collect their feline allotment

"I thought we would surely be oppressed and beaten up by the Powers that Be", one resident said. "However, Mister kins is really cute. The Federation never once gave me a kitten! They've lost my support, that's for sure. Isn't that right, Mister kins? Yes, who's a fluffy one? Who's a cuddly one?"

I signed up for free kittens, unfortunately they were out of stock and are now handing out Giant Rats instead!

In other news, the Federation has opened up free Kitten and Giant Rat Disposal Units at various stations throughout Lugh, for those wishing to humanely dispose of their unwanted gifts.

Wondered what they would do with that equipment now that our children are apparently safe from them.

The war is apparently winding down...you can still get in on the battle community goal for CSG, might be a little wind left in the sails of that one. We always need help securing our stations and helping out our police in tracking down ne'r do wells!

We can afford a night of celebration but after that we're going have to go back to work.

It may be noted that those of the CSG, EG, MoM and many others that could, gathered at Hartsfield market last evening to remember the fallen and drank copiously to our Victory.

And then being true sons of Conn we all flew to Khaka for the 'Craic' only to watch the 'Space tumbleweed' float by before returning to show our humanity to any Federal Jarhead that hadn't fled with their forces! with the support of OUR security forces :D

Of course we found no such CMDRs that we could show our empathy with their misfortune of misunderstanding their true situation.

And the party still goes on :D

P.s. I would love two puppies to play with...can that be arranged :D

C'mon Kremen you know us better than that, and if you're around tonight you may have found out that it's free 'Hartsfield olde quintuple XXXXX' we're giving away by the barrel and a case of Martian 'Betternaelooch' whisky for every disappeared child found :(
