Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

I don't think so. I seem to remember Michael mentioning that civil wars can trigger if two % of rival factions are equal or one is significantly higher than another.

Yes i think this is the case and what i have seen in Sesuang system since Sesuanc CO became the controlling faction there and in other systems.

And theoretically in worst case for CSG it could also happen that the next civil war in Lugh will be triggered between LFE and LDF instead of CSG with LFE. Just curious.

In one of my local systems there is independent faction A owning 2 stations, empire faction B owning one and federation faction C owning one. A civil war pending between A and B occurred when faction B reached the same influence % (14 in this case) as A. By the time the war started, B had already passed A and gone to 16%. During the civil war neither factions influence changed, as expected. Handing in combat bonds at 3k per ship during a civil war makes very little difference, as opposed to a high profit trading runs at the stations during peace. Faction C, meanwhile, benefited from trade and crept up to 14%.

So eventually the war ended. Local Galnet said both factions had "won", with faction A holding on to one of it's stations (where there had been no conflict zone nearby) and faction B holding onto it's one station (where also there had been no conflict zone nearby - there were two zones by faction C's station, so conflict zones don't tell you which stations you're fighting for).

Now factions A (14%) and B (16%) are at Civil War pending, which seems odd since faction C is at 14% now. If it worked the same way as before you'd think A and C would fight, but IIRC there was some talk about the change in influence being important, not just the current level - which would imply if two factions are of similar % and don't change much, they tend to end up in constant battle, while the other factions make hay and boost their influence through trade.

I think during a civil war between two minor faction none of them can gain influence so the faction C cashed in all the NPC trade etc. And since the civil war between faction A and B has ended they are now both in a civil war cooldown period. At the moment this period lasts 26 days and as far as i know and assume no other minor faction in this system can get into a civil war again together till this cooldwon period is over. This pending state "civil war" is the cooldown period for those two minor factions. And pending state "civil war critical" would mean that two minor factions will go into a civil war soon.

Lugh 6 looking very pretty at night in 1.1! And one day it will come under the virtuous remit of the Crimson State Group!

most have wondered off, theres no offical lugh thread in the groups forum. Its still going i believe but most players are chasing the news feeds now and community goals as well.

If I read the release notes right, we'll be able to get bounties issued by CSG now. I'm going to head back to Lugh once I get home and have dinner, and test things out. ;)

stations and the commodities they sell have changed.

some are gone

universe not persistent

/thread

yeah its barley persistant and hardly dynamic either. The background simuator is in beta mode still. Mikunn found a bug with civil war against oneself, and the pand group found a bug with terraforming colonys not upgrading over a period of time

Just been waiting it out for a couple of days to see what happens. If nothing does we are going to push it to 100% as per the conversation above.

Are you suggesting we keep with the mission-freeze for a while longer? I've been doing a few this evening but I'll stop if that's the current plan...

There's some definite wackiness going on: a "take" mission for "&6" tonnes of cargo (not enough space), and various fetch missions with the "->" icon rather than the both ways icon.

Just a warning, some power usage values have increased - I just interdicted a wanted NPC and then managed to overload in a very n00b way, leaving me a sitting duck with no shields. Luckily only a Cobra so I adjusted and got out of there. No beam lasers for my Viper any more! :(

If we have a lockdown on cooldown, why dont we bring in a load of weapons?

EDIT:

So we are just a bit close to another boom. careful.

EDIT#2:

The great star of Lugh is looking much more magnificent today. Also, Random fact, Lugh 6 is tidally locked. [ whoops got science wrong there for a second ]

Edit#3: Illegal art? just what kind of "art" am i hauling? ;)
