Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

We are still running missions and monitoring the system to consolidate CSG's influence. But since this is not very exciting and the members involved are talking to each other mainly through TeamSpeak and the in-game chat, this thread has indeed gone pretty quiet. There have been a few discussions as to what will be done next, but with Powerplay around the corner it may be wiser to stick to a "wait & see" attitude for now.

Seems like a nice analysis. I'll give it a more attentive read later.

Ill write up a simplified version with full opinion piece later for reddit. Needed to have where the numbers came from first and explained, so people know why I'm bandying them about.

I have a question.

I have , for the past month or so, been working on getting an anarchic minor faction into power, they are currently the second largest faction in the system.

For the past few weeks, I have been running missions, doing some trading and destroying only the controlling factions ships and the influence has been rising slowly but surely, there is currently only 9% difference between my faction and the controlling one.

I became Allied with my faction two days ago, yesterday I did around seven missions, a little trade and destoyed one rival ship.

This morning, I log on to see that the controlling faction has lost a little influence (as expected), but my faction has not moved, instead the third largest faction has increased around 4%.

The traffic report only shows my ship in the last 2 hours and has done for the past few days.

I'm confused as to why this would of happened.

The only slight negative I can think of was last night where I had to discard a failed kill mission, this gave me a red down arrow for a little while but dissapeared after dong a few more missions.

Anyone know what happened here?, could it be a bug?

Powerplay announcement is out!

Crimson has to be a power
Players will even have a hand in creating new Powers. The initial selection of factions will rise to a maximum of twenty as players provide assistance to minor local forces; as those forces establish a foothold across a handful of systems, they may rise to become Powers in their own right.
So we need to establish foothold across a handful of systems. We have work to do.

Players choose which system their Power targets. At the end of the week the target will be chosen and objectives will be created.
If we manage to be one of those 20 powers, it will be awesome.

Actually, the question of expansion has been brought to the table several times since this thread was first started. And the discussion always ended with the same conclusion : the Sons of Conn only want independence from the "big Three" and the right to decide their own fate. It could make sense for some of them to help other independent factions fighting the Federation or the Empire in their own systems, but certainly not to expand into another system themselves. What is the point to break free from the Federation and then become a twin of it ?

As such, the Crimson State Group will likely not match the requirements to become a galactic Power, are those are apparently expansionist by essence.

Someone has a Cliiiiiperrrrr :D

I'll post a pic later. Getting Earl.

Hey Congratulations! I just scored one too, parked it in Hartsfield about an hour ago ..still I suspect until I earn enough to upgrade it properly Ill be using it as a hauler and dpending on the vulture for the sharp end of things as they arise. Will have to study up in the correct approach with a clipper ... I suspect getting close up and cosy to them like I do with the Vulture is the wrong way to go.

Hi All,
I just took a mission to take out a couple of infected vessels in Lugh. Thing is, the chap is begging for his life and claims that the outbrake is the work of mad scientists working for the CSG. Tell me it isn't true?

I should add that the ship is from the Lugh for Equality faction. I am always wary of these sort of titles ... it's like the Peoples Front of Lugh, or was it the The Lugh's People Front, I dunno. I have had a glass or two, I might just have to do some more testing with my Vulture and worry about it later.

No, its not true Crimson State has always worked for the good of its own people whether they are still subjugated by the federation or not. This is noticeably different to the situation with the Federation where they have forgotten their roots and their leadership is now just a self seeking group of power hungry individuals jostling for their own position without regard to the people in the Federation.

My stance on the medical missions however is I don't touch them ..Militaries on both sides have their share of psychopaths or people who have lost touch of why they fight .. rigid hierarchies are a good place for them to hide. In the end you have to make your own moral decision about which mission you take. Really, when you think about it just blindly following orders is never an excuse.

From a practical standpoint, I was finding that the destroy infected vessels missions didn't actually decrease Outbreak.

Completely off-topic, but for the fact that i'll return exploration data back to Lugh when i return home :D
Here's an Eagle thinking two times about attacking a miner:

Back in Lugh after some Weeks of Explo. So whats the Status in Lugh/CSG Activities? Still something going on? Any Preparation towards Powerplay? If so, i am back on Duty!

I think Orfeboy might have some words about the weekends shenanigans....let's just say that a couple more systems are breathing a little easier now that the boot of the Federation has been removed from their throat!

Hey, letting you know we are freeing you from your debt.
We haven't worked that way for a while now. And we've been carrying it around not knowing what to apply it to.

Essentially we go help people now, and then if they help us back and return the favor again, we are more likely to help them in the future.

Fly safe! and Good luck in Lugh

Back in Lugh for the first time in 1.3. Being a veteran of Lugh freedom fighters and allied since before the CG war I am quite surprised to find the Crimson State no longer regards me as an ally. Seems like a bug, or they have some short memories )-:

Anyone else experience the same, or different? Should I ticket it as a bug?

Might be the reputation decay introduced in 1.3. I might be wrong though, but I recall it affecting positive rep as well, unless that was fixed.

Removing The Evidence - Staff at Hartsfield Market in Lugh are hard at work removing Federal insignia from the space station...

By the way folks, you can now read much more about the Crimson State Group, including how to join us, on our website!
