aaaand it might break one or seven ships that won´t be fixed for two years. chin-chin

What has that got to do with your perceived lack of value in the LEP?

There will be future updates which will be charged for, which LEP owners will get free. When there are no more updates, if you feel you were shortchanged, by all means complain then. FD have never given dates for any updates so by definition they're not currently late. It's maybe not happening as fast as you'd like it, but to be honest, that's your problem not one with the LEP.

But currently you're complaining about issues which are irrelevant to the LEP, and are off topic.

That user is referring to Star Citizen, as were the previous three in the chain - Reddit is much better for conversation flow :S

Admittedly, off-topic laughs.

Yeah.. that´s what they said in 2016 when FDev told us "Horizons" would be two years. And that´s what people said when FDev said "Beyond" would be free.

Now, they are saying "There will be something... later... not telling you what. That´s exactly what they told me as response to a ticket 14 months ago and today´s "gift" is what we got. It leaves a certain taste.

FD have never given dates for any updates

That´s wrong. There was a planned schedule on site in their store when the LEP was available in 2015 which indicated "Horizons" would be one year (which turned out to be two). I wouldn´t have bought the LEP in the first place if that schedule hadn´t indicated that Horizons would be fully released in one year. That´s why I vividly remeber it being there. However, this site can´t be accessesd anymore. Coincidence?

It´s relevant to LEP, since fixing some of the buggy mess they´ve created so far took them one year of fixing which could have been spend on content updates.

Fdev,

Quite frankly that is absolutely DISGUSTING. I paid over £120 for the product when Horizons was announced. I was purchased what was described to me at point of sale as a Lifetime Season Pass. All I have received is the same as what people purchasing Beyond have received for less than 1/3 of that price. I did not purchase Bobbleheads, nor did I purchase paintjobs. I purchased a lifetime of seasons. In UK law goods must be fit for the purpose they were bought for and be as described, I would argue strongly that this does not meet either criteria.
I am so furious I have wasted over £80 for nothing. That is a LOT of money. I will make it clear here and now that I do not intend to let this matter go. I will be contacting your customer services about this issue and if it is not resolved with a reasonable refund then I hereby inform you that I will be taking action via the small claims court until the matter is dealt with. Sufficed to say I will not be purchasing any further products from Frontier unless this is dealt with acceptably.

Good day.

If frontier require any counter point to this I'd happily attest to being satisfied with the value given by the lep so far.

Best of luck with your utterly absurd request for a refund. I hope that your are granted one just before any future paid content is released, which you'd then have to buy to play.

For your own future reference, any thing like season passes or lifetime passes or even just buying a game on pre order is a gamble the content and timing of which is not guaranteed.

I purchased a LEP - but if I break down the cost per hour I have paid for on Elite, and compare this to most other games - I do not care that I have not received all I can yet. I want to see the game continue, and develop and I happily paid for that.

We have no subscription cost, and the servers cost money to maintain, and staff to keep it going.

Most LEP owners paid to keep the game going, the fact that we get free content is a bonus.

Bonus? more like an insult. Haven't bought a single item from the store and never will, so this generous gesture to me is worthless.

I do feel sorry for FDEV when stuff like this happens, they do something nice, get smacked for it. So I don't agree with the smacking.

And your point?, given that we got Horizons for free under the LEP, and we will be recieving the last update to Beyond tomorrow for free for all, as FD have told us before - looks like they kept their word.

Now, they are saying "There will be something... later... not telling you what. That´s exactly what they told me as response to a ticket 14 months ago and today´s "gift" is what we got. It leaves a certain taste.

They never announce stuff until they're ready to - you should know that by now. "We have nothing to announce today" is all they ever really announce until they have concrete dates. If you don't like their policy on that, that's fine, but it's their policy.

We got Horizons - what does it matter if it took a little longer? Exactly what effect did that have on you? It's not like the LEP was charged per day and they made more money out of it. If you're now saying you wouldn't have bought the LEP because you're not wiling to wait the 'lifetime' for the updates, and that a single update would take longer than you expected, then more fool you.

It´s relevant to LEP, since fixing some of the buggy mess they´ve created so far took them one year of fixing which could have been spend on content updates.

They've been releasing content updates - dunno where you've been....

Horizons was two years. Beyond was free. I'm not sure what your point is - are you agreeing with everyone that said FDev kept to their statements?

From archive.org in September 2015:
Lifetime Expansion Pass
Horizons (inc Beta)

What a lovely thought, ta very much FD. I do hope these paint jobs aren't tied to specific ships but are universal across all models. All considering a nice gesture considering that you're busy building the next expansion - thanks for keeping us in mind.

Edit: OK so paint jobs are restricted to certain ship models, mmm honestly FD could have handled this a little better. Personally I might use the Krait skins but all other items are wasted on me, I'm not someone who buys skins so it wont temp me to buy anything else. Would have much preferred a universal discount on the store to spend on items we actually would have wanted - might have been more inclined to spend more but hey...

Still a gifts a gift, my life time pass is honoured and we're getting all future content for free still - so a nice little gesture. Its not as expected but still better than nothing.

The KEY part being the bit I quoted, as it's the only part that even hints at the future content. It would have been clearer had they spelled out in full that a) there is future paid content planned and b) it's going to be free for LEP owners. Of course, we ought to all have assumed both A and B, but as not everyone reads every message it's no surprise some people were confused.

Actually what you are missing is what I originally quoted, this whole discussion is rather confused. I believe you missed some posts.

Woohoo! Stuff! :D

About those festive bobbleheads, what I'd really like is a tool to rip out decorations when they start driving me insane and the next port with outfitting is several thousand light-years away :p

Same... afraid I won’t make it back to a station before Xmas.....

Sorry, but as a LEP purchaser, I’m still pretty underwhelmed. Especially since I don’t really like bobble heads, I hope the paint jobs are neat, but realistically there’s a slim chance I’ll even use them. I own dozens. Would be nice to get exclusive paint jobs to show off/brag about our support at least. I hope we get our money’s worth with paid expansions later. You guys are doing a good job overall FDEV, keep it up :)

The paintjob we get is a written text "all I did get was this paintjob"
