But are paintjobs "expansions"?
I don't really think so. But, then...from what I've been seeing, phrasing is not exactly the devs' strong suit.
It just seems to me that they ought to be available with a Lifetime Pass, for the money.

As I understand it the LEP is a limited offer*, I suspect that as the deadline for buying it draws close, that deadline will be given a lot of attention of the Forums. I think you might find that skins would be added as an extra incentive to buy the LEP at that point. I very much doubt it would happen sooner; could be wrong.
I bought the LEP.

Vamos a ordenar temas, que hoy estamos mezclando multitud de asuntos en posts diversos y sin orden alguno.

Supuestamente, en su dia costaba 40 € para los valientes que decidieron apostar por Frontier y por Elite Dangeros cuando solo era un proyecto. Hoy el Lifetime Pass ha vuelto a salir a la venta para todo el mundo, por el "módico" precio de 175 €
El Lifetime Expansion Pass incluye el juego Elite Dangerous, todas las expansiones actuales y futuras, y el pase de Beta Access.
Lo que no le cuadra a nadie, es que si ya somos propietarios del juego, habiéndonos gastado 50 € en él, ahora podamos pasar al Lifetime Pass gastando otros 175 € , upgradeando asi nuestra cuenta. Lo que no tiene sentido, es que nos cueste lo mismo a quienes ya tenemos el juego, que a quienes adquieran el Lifetime para comprarse el juego con todo.
¿No seria más justo que a los actuales clientes que pagaron por el juego se les descontara el precio original? Con esa medida seguiriamos pagando cada uno 125 €, lo que implica 2 expansiones y media... habiendo salido de momento solo una, y no ha salido aún...
Tal como lo tienen planteado ahora mismo:
a) Salen ganando los mecenas que apostaron por el juego en horas tempranas. Bien por ellos, ninguna queja. Es lo que tiene un mecenazgo.
b) Salen ganando los nuevos jugadores que decidan apostar AHORA por el Lifetime y compren el juego con esa modalidad. Por 175€ tendrán juego y expansiones.
c) El grupo de los gilipollas. Los que compramos el juego en su dia por 50 leuros, porque no eramos mecenas, descubrimos el juego tarde... y quisimos comprarlo y disfrutarlo aun estando el juego en pañales. Si ahora queremos el Lifetime... te jodes y pagas otros 175 € como si fueras cliente nuevo.
Ningún puto sentido. Estoy muy cabreado, si realmente no arreglan eso me llevaré un disgusto de los serios con ED.
pd: se entiende todavia menos cuando el Horizons, para clientes actuales, nos cuesta 37,49 €. Si las expansiones van a costarnos menos de 40 €, esos 175 € del lifetime solo nos saldrían a cuenta en caso de salir, mínimo, CINCO expansiones...

I kicked myself for not buying the lifetime expansion pass when I bought my beta, I umm'd and arrr'd about it for days and they withdrew it just before I pulled the trigger. So when I saw it on offer again I decided I would take the risk and get it, I say risk because we all know things have been far from perfect in the last 12 months of development so my head was saying 'hmmmm not sure' but my heart screamed 'BUY IT NOW!!!!!11', and won. So please don't let me down here DB, or I'm coming to Cambridge to kick the heads off your gnomes!

I just purchased the Lifetime and Beta Access. Was going to purchase another account but that is at this point dashed at the $180 USD price. My main reason for purchase is I have logged over 1200 hours in game so even at the cost of (Elite Dangerous + The Lifetime upgrades) / hours played = a ton o fun for very little $$$.
This works for me and I understand that it may not work for others, but I do enjoy the game that much. When I take into account my game style where I play the same game for literally years, well it was a worth wile investment.
Just my $.02 or my $180 however you want to spin it.

I got an LEP (Lifetime Expansion Pass, not just a Lifetime Pass as you put it OP) as part of Premium Beta, but why on earth would I expect to get all paintjobs etc for free? They aren't expansions, they're extras, and an extra revenue stream for FD to boot

Extra incentive, especially considering how much the expansions would cost individually versus paintjobs.
It seems a reasonable perk, name of the pass including "expansion" or not.
We all like things for free but this is a bit...erm...silly. It's an expansion pass, for expansions. Paint jobs, t-shirts and bobbleheads (give me my bobblehead back!!!) are all small personalised touches for those commanders that desire them, they have nothing to do with expansions, sorry.
Yes, that's all you need to do, it will then be added to your account. Whether you login via steam or directly in to the ED launcher, you are still using the same account.
The skins are a way to raise revenue besides buying the game and expansion packs. To include it would be to give away the store so to speak and lose potential revenue. So I would hope they do not include the skins and still make them pay to use. I am not trying to nix the idea as I am an Alpha backer, have the expansion pack and that would give me the paint jobs also. I just feel it is not needed, I would take it if offered but I say let it remain as a revenue stream.

Yo ahí te doy la razón. Se podrían haber portado un poco mejor con los jugadores que compraron el precio base. Tampoco voy a decir que a mi me tengan que hacer un gran descuento por un juego que les he comprado y disfrutado durante 6 meses (lo compré en marzo). Pero hubiera estado bien. Lo que si que les agradecería es una hoja de ruta de que piensan sacar. Para que la gente haga cuentas.
Y sí, por favor. Sigamos solo un hilo (este mismo si hace falta) que me voy a volver loco (Y otro solo para la boda/funeral del año).
Por cierto. ¿Que entienden por Holyday 2015? me pierdo en el inglés. Porque entiendo como vacaciones. ¿Pero cuales? ¿Las de navidad?

Good stuff. I tried to buy it on my main account direct through Frontier, but my country is not listed on their drop down. Once they sort that out they'll make two lifetime expansion sales.
To avail of the pass you need to also buy the game. That's two transactions of £130 and £30 respectively. As the pass is independent of the game that we now play it means that there is absolutely no reason why your character would be deleted. (Anything contrary to this would be a form of corporate suicide.)
Think about expansions being analogous to an extension built onto a house. The old house (the core game) still exists but after the work has been completed you have extra room or two.
