Saw price of Horizons and thought "ohh that's more expensive than I expected", then saw the lifetime pass and thought "buy it now", which I did.

Did consider buying under a new account so I could have two commanders (the old 1 to explore and 1 to do everything else with approach) but then I would have missed out on the Cobra Mark IV so I didn't.

May have qualms about the price of ED:H but for me the LEP is spot on. I'm confident the game will be here in 3-years time, my gametime tends to be 90% in one game, with dabbles elsewhere so for £120.00 I've bought 3-years of gameplay including all expacs; I don't have to bother myself with buying expacs now, I simply have them in advance.

I've no problems with FD having my money up-front for this type of purchase; they need to fund it and I want to play it.

Have to admit I would have prefered a bigger discount since I had already purchased the original beta for 50 quid. Still 120 quid for thousands of hours worth of entertainment.. 120 quid is an average night out in London.

Also comparing it to the flightsim community, 120 quid wouldn't even buy you the high res satellite mesh for Earth, you are looking at a few thousand for high end software including addons...

Sooo... I bought beta access (merc edition). I still will need to pay for it if I don't go and buy the new lifetime pass? Also - I have beta access... will that beta access carry over to horizons if I just buy the standard package and not the beta package for it?

Lifetime expansion pack is back for a limited time. It isn't cheap but could save money in the long run.

My reasoning is pretty much identical. In addition, I also missed out on the original lifetime expansion and now regret it, so as soon as this opportunity came up, I grabbed it pretty much immediately.

My understanding is no it doesn't. As you purchased on your existing account you got the £10 off and the Cobra Mark IV instead.
