No pass here, but I will continue to support the game. If FD keeps the quality high and I end up spending an extra couple of hundred over the next few years; they will have deserved it.

I think I will continue to find ways to happily spend money on ED still ;)

its in the store

edit - ninjad - but ya where else would it be

What's with your signature? I assume it's morse code. And if so, it's the strangest message I've ever seen. Whale overlords?

I made my commitment via Steam, bought the game obviously plus three paint packs up until now ( and am contented to support FD via new paint pack per new ship) So a few questions, or advice needed Cmdrs/Devs:-

i would rather pay cash via PayPal than use credit card, so will the pass still be available in about two weeks?

i know that I'd get a Steam Key generated - but couldn't I import the new game into the Steam Library anyway ( if it's release is months before Steam release) or do I just have to be patient?

Perhaps FD would consider permitting a discounted purchase of an Anaconda (50% on credits) and load it out with A Class FSD/Power Plant and Distribution. That would be a nice sweetener that costs FD nothing but generates considerable goodwill!

Since ED seems to be the only game I've played since December I also bought the lifetime pass of course :)
I'm not interested in beta access, but it just seems to be a good deal. I'm figuring there will be 5-6 of these expansions down the line.

Lifetime Expansion

I realise that I might get a DUH comment but is Elite Horizons a separate game from Elite dangerous and therefore the lifetime expansion is for Elite dangerous only?

its all the same game, but without horizons, you can't land on planets (and probably some other exclusive in game content)

buy the lifetime expansion while its still available I say. It includes Horizons, plus any future expansion packs.

The lifetime pass is for EDH. I think FD said yesterday if you purchase it will not let you play ED. (Sounds wrong to me)

I brought the lifetime pass for £120. In the long run it will work out really good value. Also means you get access to Beta for all future release (Bug hunting).
EDH when launched will be what ever level ED is at. 1.5.6????? + Planetary landings. Assume you already own ED?

I'm having trouble justifying the lifetime expansion ($200). Maybe I've got my numbers wrong, or am missing critical DDF information.
.
Horizons is $30. It would take seven expansions of this price to warrant the lifetime expansion. How many expansions worth of content could there possibly be?
1) Horizons
2) Passengers
3) Walking around
4) Thargoids
5) FPS/boarding
6)
7)
.
Wouldn't it be better just to buy them as they come out?

Edit: Yep, got my numbers wrong. 30 pounds each, but $60 each. Worth it after the third or fourth expansion.

Does the new lifetime expansion pass include all future betas or only Horizons Beta

Question is in the title. The FAQ statement is not clear on this point - if you read it carefully, it is worded to suggest that when you buy the lifetime expansion pass, you are getting access to the Horizons beta (current season), but not necessarily access to future betas for seasons 2016 and beyond.

I hope that Frontier will clarify whether the lifetime expansion pass currently on sale provides access to all future seasons at beta level (or not).

Keep calm and be ready for download :) In the Kickstarter page you can read this:

£80 reward

Digital Download Pack. This includes a single digital download of the game, and any expansions, and all the other rewards above except those requiring physical delivery.

So if you pledged £80 or more (+ shipping), you already have free expansion pass. You can check on your order list here: https://www.frontierstore.net/sales/order/history/

I pledged £90 (+ shipping, wanted the boxed edition), so I can read there this:

1 x Elite: Dangerous - Expansion Pass £35.00 Complete
1 x Elite: Dangerous - Standard Beta £50.00 Complete

So if you pledged for Premium Beta (eg. more than for Standard Beta) you are good to go, as well as everyone who pledged for Standard Beta, Kickstarter Special or even Digital Download Pack. No need to purchase anything more. Too bad Frontier didn't clarify it right next to information about Expansion Pass - the annoyed a lot of people, I know personaly a man with £750 pledge with his own planet who were afraid he will not receive Horizon update...

Edit: Disregard, got my numbers wrong. Lifetime expansion is $130. Five expansions worth.

More like
1) Horizons: airless rockey
2) airless other
3) lifeles atmospheric
4) inhabited atmospheric
5) walking around ships
6) walking around stations/ground stations
7) walking around planets
8) Thargoids
9) FPS/boarding

with things like passengers and other main season content improvement as "expansions" (formely known as content patches) in between major seasons.

So the lifetime pass is a deal!!

The Lifetime Expansion Pass also includes access to all Elite: Dangerous Beta builds to gain an early glimpse at upcoming game content before release plus exclusive content.
I think you do. This is from the store page.

Horizons itself is a one year season, you can't buy the individual updates on their own.

Anything that says 'lifetime' includes all future seasons.

Edit: Ignore me, I see what you are asking now. If it includes beta access to future seasons
