List your three most used ships, and tell us a bit about them.

That’s probably true, but I find that things are slightly different in VR. You can enjoy a ship purely for its ambience and aesthetic qualities. If I were being hard-nosed about it then there’s probably no compelling reason to fly the Beluga over an Anaconda for passengers at present, but I’ve grown quite fond of that ship.

When I want to get a job done fast and efficiently, I use an Anaconda.
When I dont care if it gets done fast or efficiently, I use a more roll specific ship.

But as this was about my "most used ships" I had to list the Condas.

At the moment:
1. Python for BGS jiggery pokery - can handle all the missions pretty well.
2. Viper IV for killing things.
3. Cobra III. Because.

Joint 4th would probably be my DBE, iClipper, T6 and C IV.

  1. The Python. I have two, on different accounts. It just does everything. Both my accounts use the Python as a multirole, with a focus on mission running. I look forward to getting the "incoming enemies" message in my inbox because I know that I'll just be able to blow them all up and add 1-2mcr to my mission reward. There's no ship like it (although I wish there were). Also, its default skin is one of the nicest.
  2. The Vulture. It's just such a badass ship.
  3. The DBS/X. OK, this is cheating, but both variants are just amazing. Taxi!
  4. The Viper Mk. III. OK, this is also cheating, but if you want to know what acceleration is, G5 dirty drive this little monster.

1. FNS Sleeping Giant Heavy Fighter: PvE and PvP. Covered in gimbals and turrets. Deal with it.

2. FNS Leto Atreides II Multi Role: CGs, mats gathering, misc
461548x1263.jpg

3. FNS Mazer Rackham Xeno Combat: Outfitted with AX weapons. Killed cyclops & scouts so far.

1. Imperial Clipper: general use in the bubble, blockade runner on open hot points, or to be a miner, a trader, or do pasangger runs.

2. Asp Explorer: for exploration outside the bubble.

I´ll use the big ones, the day we'll have a deck with npcs filling the stations and doing something.

Courier just for fun.

FDL mission running in style/combat.

DBX as a workhorse.

(Chieftain thargoid killing runner up)

1. Python "Inherent Vice" My main multipurpose.
2. Vulture "Lovely Butterfly" Twin mc murdership
3. AspX "Furthur" Demoted from main to being my long range relocation shuttle

Honorary mention to my Cobra III "The Gonzo". Mothballed but not forgotten o7

1.Passenger Cutter...1st passenger hotspot
2.Combat/cargo Cutter...same spot which happens to be home base.
3.Passenger Cutter..parked at 2nd passenger hot spot too far to fly to quickly. Use a DBX to get there.

1: Python, Alessa. She's my primary ship, I do almost everything in her. She's even taken me to Beagle and back.

2: Diamondback Explorer, Nebula Gnat. Use her every now and then to do a bit of site seeing or zip somewhere quickly.

3: Eagle, Armistice. I just love the jet fighter look and feel of the ship. Engineered for speed I just use her for a bit of canyon running.

- Alliance Chieftain: Rez and assassination missions, i use it 99% of the time. Almost completely engineered.
- Imperial Cutter: my all around ship, it has everything you could ever dream (except agility...), i use it almost never.

That's it, no one really needs more than 2 ships really.

DBX, RescueCat
Gunless, Lightweighted, and maximally engineered for cold cruising and range. She hauls refugees out of burning stations, transports illegal passengers through blockades, explores, salvages, collects materials, and does all the ferrying of modules.
This ship makes most of my cash. It has never ever even been shot because it runs at 10% heat. Rebuy, what rebuy?

Cobra MK III, Scimitar
Performance engineered for light combat specializing in short fights with Shock Cannons, a hi-cap missile rack, and a single long range beam laser. Boost speed is respectable, but she's not a record breaker anymore since those new engines came out.
This ship had been everywhere in the bubble, and does most of the surface prospecting. A real joy to fly, and a great old workhorse. Named after the Wing Commander fighter.

FDL
Still unnamed, this ship is less than a month old but it has completely replaced every other dedicated fighter. Took advantage of the bonus weekend to G5 every module, and gun on board. It will lazily squash a deadly Anaconda, while barely taking any shield lossage. Ant, meet boot.

Python - "The Call-out Charge" - My pride and joy and everyday runabout which I fly when I'm doing missions, or bounty hunting or just generally heading out in the bubble without any clear purpose. It's got something like a 35+ly range, big fuel scoop, wake scanner, KWS, ADS, single SRV, fuel transfer limpets (it's also my main Fuel Rat ship which is where it's name comes from), multi-cannons + fixed beam + turreted pulse lasers and then a mixture of either cargo and/or passenger cabins. It can land anywhere, do anything (except mining) and get to most places in reasonable time.

DBX - "Bananery Fandango" - My SRV dropship and/or long range racer (winner of the Galaxy's End Buckyball pub crawl) and/or goto ship when I want to get somewhere a bit further outside the bubble (e.g. guardian sites, thargoid sites or nearby nebula). Aside from the core modules which are optimised and engineered for distance and speed, the internals vary. It's often completely stripped apart from a big fuel scoop (not even shields) if I'm racing, but if I going planetside (e.g. taking the SRV to base jumping locations) then it'll have ADS, SRV and minimal D rated shields.

Asp Explorer - "The Wedding Anniversary" - My long range exploration ship (not actually as big a jump range as the DBX but the faster scoop make up for that) and the ship which made the Sagittarius A* run in 15h 22m (not that great a time even back then but I'm still moderately proud of it). Oldest of these three by quite a bit and the one I have fondest memories of working towards after the Cobra. Also a big fan of how the Raider ship skin transforms the Asp from something rather ugly into a pretty mean looking ship.

Also rans ...

Imperial Courier - "The Sans Serif" - Another favourite racing ship, one that actually looks and feels like a racing ship and great for canyon and installation tunnel running.

Type 6 - "The Pug That Snored" - A cargo transport ship that's been retro-fitted for exploration following some advice from Cmdr Codger and one that looks terrific in screenshots thanks to its Chris Foss paint job.

1) Python - Runabout
Bubble hopper all-rounder. Tried to cram as much in it as possible to keep it versatile. Been engineering it to G5 slowly and enjoying the process. I spend maybe 90% of my time in it.

2) Anaconda - Lady Long Legs
Stripped down long range jumper. Haven't really used it much yet but it's replacing my AspX that served the same purpose. Switching pinned blueprints between far off engineers, reaching far off systems for collecting engineering mats, long range exploration whenever the itch hits to return to the black, so on and so forth.

3) Corvette - Dear Agony
Pew Pew, Boom Boom. Quite the upgrade from my previous Vulture which I parked some time ago to pursue other ventures. The Vulture helped me go up to Master. I'm hoping Dear Agony will take me the rest of the way to Elite. It's proving very effective in HazRes and CZ so far.

Bonus that I don't use much by enjoy a lot) T10 - It's Off To Work I Go
Spikey mining ship. Beam/pulse turrets and SLF bay. I dare you to come take my cargo :D

Recently I've found myself flying
1) iCourier for planetary scans and some data missions
2) Chieftain for missions where they say 'hostile ships may be sent against you'
3) is a tossup between my Python for large cargo/passenger missions/mining trips and my DBx for getting somewhere in the bubble Right NOW.

Cobra mk3 [Vortex] - soft exploration, sightseeing and fast travel around the buble.
ASP Ex [Grinder] - well, as the name suggests, I use this ship to hunt for materials, I have another variation called "Nomad" that is used for deep exploration purposes.
Python [Neuromancer]- This is my "make a living" ship, I use to haul passangers, cargo and eventually a litle of mining.

Anaconda: Fitted for either conflict zones or passengers hauling,

Cutter: Fighting thargoids,

DBX: Exploration, and fast travel to the other two ships.

FGS (Bunda), to kill stuff.

Asp X (Kolea), to hunt mats etc.

After that it's a toss up but my Couriers (Thing 1/2) get flown often for missions, combat and general pooting around.

Asp Explorer - Arthur C. Clarke
It took me to the core and beyond, not only once. It survived countless adventures, both in the bubble and far beyond.
I flew this ship for more than a year exclusively and i already feel the urge to undust it again...

Fer-De-Lance - Scimitar
Black Ops build with highly tuned engines and some unpleasant surprises for those who can keep up.
I pilot this vessel for a few months now, mainly to roam around the Pleiades, keeping track of Aegis movements and such things.

Cobra Mk. III - The Deathperado ( :p )
Light, fast and rigged for running fast paced cargo mission and stealth operations... i mean those cargo mission, that happen under the radar.
Fun to fly and a good reliable rig.

T6 - Pride and Accomplishment
Well OK, its just "Accomplishment" because "Pride" is the ship ID (name too long). I do love this underdog with 0% paint, some optional attachments and orange engine fumes(?) - by far the most used ship of mine. It's for cargo/data mission running, some trading and exploration. The bestest ship in the game. Period.

Cobra MK4 - I Can't Even
Again, an underdog, but imo far better looking than MK3 and that's what matters :) While Speed and maneuverability could be a tad improved (looking at you FD), it's an awesome ship for my kind of gameplay. We've been to Colonia and back together, not regretting the trip one bit. Used mostly for cargo/data mission running, some trading and exploration.

Adder - Free Candy
Fast and agile, but most importantly, equipped with a cup holder. used for quick runs within the bubble and some almost legal scan or salvage missions. And some exploration too.
