Greetings Commanders,
I am currently cruising the Pleiades Nebula and am hunting down the Listening Posts I find there. I have fun capturing their messages and attempting to discover the location of the original signal.
However, I need to admit that I have trouble doing exactly that. Until now I was not able to find any of the decribed signal sources on my own - I always had to look them up at the Canonn eventually (three sites so far).
I wonder how you do the triangulation. The in-game Galactic map rather confuses me than being a real help. It shows either too many or not enough stars whatever filter I apply; I do not seem to get the logic behind it. I tried Inara and EDDB: I was looking for nearest systems that would match the distances given by the LP's messages and try to find the ones that would be at the intersections - with no results so far. I have even found systems in these DBs being listed with different distances from my respective references.
So, I would be curious to hear about your experience and best approaches.
