Got any super duper exciting new features for us to get juiced about?

I appreciate these Q & A sessions but it all seems a little vague and non-committal......

I saw in a different thread that someone mentioned that animating rollerskates (For Coaster King) is supposedly a nightmare. Could you explain why?

The Mascots are part of the crowd system and simulation along with the guests and the rest of the economy. He'd still have to follow the same paths as things as the other mascots and travel at the same speed as the other mascots, this would cause some particularly strange animations at low speeds and in corners, with lots of sliding about.

The guys have done a beautiful job of animating him walking about and performing, I can't wait for you guys to see his proper performance animations in a later build!

Will we see kids being carried on Dads shoulders or kids being swung in between Mum & Dad. ypu often see this when they are enjoying themselves.

I guess thats for flatrides?

Will the coasters also have realistic and animated ride-gates in Alpha 2?

That is for flat-rides, there will be more details about the coaster in a later livestream in a couple of weeks but mark my words if there is a gate out there that needs animating, I will animate the hell out of it.

Hallo to all at Frontier.

Can you already hint how deep the performance will be?

We saw a video where Gulpee Rex swallowed a kid by mistake and one where he just made his roar.

Hey there, I had the honour of animating a Gulpee perform animation. I've always had a dream of being Goofy so when I was filming reference for this animation I got very in to character and gave it my all. Gulpee's perform animation is a lot of fun, very silly and loveable like you would expect from the dynamic dino. It's one of my favourite animations I've ever done.

And a follow up question to that...WHO insisted on that animation to be created... <Darts out of the room!!!> [big grin]

That's a great follow up [squeeeeee]
We actually have a lot of freedom in what we choose to do. So with that Chief Beef animation, I new what I wanted to do would be hard and technically demanding, but I knew it would also be worth it!

- The boarding and unloading animations are something that we're going to continue to improve ride up to release, we too want to get it as smooth as possible but we also need to consider the design impacts of our animations. For instance, if the ferris wheel stopped to let people on for every carriage, the time it takes for a guest to get on and off of the ride would be much, much longer than any other flatride. This would in turn unbalance the economy of the game and make the ferris wheel a fiscally undesirable ride.

While this is true, that it takes longer...It is also true in reality with loading a ferris wheel. However, to combat some of the larger ferris wheels, parks have a platform that allow them to load 3-4 cars at a time to reduce load time. Only the very small wheels with 5-8 cars load one by one. Riders already on the wheel are getting their experience as the wheel fully loads. The ferris wheel then does 2-3 full rotations once loaded and then unloads.

Sounds great. Thank you. Seems as if he will get even more popular in future.
