Hi there and thank you very much indeed for all your effort and great work!

My questions ;-) :

1. How difficult is it to animate and program the people in the park to move from A to B when there would be plazas? I guess that normally people follow the paths but whow difficult is it to programm them to find their way on a big plaza?
2. Do people need food signs to find shops or how do signs affect them?
3. How does scenery affect people in the park and would non-pirate-scenery would have bad effect on a pirate-ride like the pirate-ship?

Hold on I'll grab the man-genius Owen to answer this for you :D

Hello!

Oh, this is a tough question... one that comes to mind is Chief Beef when he's overworked. It was a real technical animation, and I had to think quite hard about how I'd feel if my job was to be Chief Beef and I was under too much pressure to entertain massive crowds of people - What would my posture be like? How might I screw up? What if I don't have enough belief in the Beef?

I'll leave this here and you can try and guess what happens next [wink]

First, I would like to say that the animations really bring park to life and are incredible...

Now, about some questions I've:

- Will there be seasons in the game and related animation (for example guests running to hide under roof when it's raining)?

- How will you improve guests animations when they entering and leaving rides?

- The peeps are often in bunch and very close to each other, do you improve it in alpha2?

- Will we see animation of guests with mascotts, with employees (for example, guests asking for a specific location to an employee, etc.)?

- Is some people will try to pass in front of other guest in waiting lines?

- Will you add some events and funny stuff like people taking photos, like the security guard running after people like the video you showed us before?

- Will we see children crying, running away from parents, etc.?

Thanks for the feedback. [up]

Hey

Thanks for the kind words!

-We want to make sure we have animated reactions for everything your guests encounter, we've started to implement this in to alpha 2 as you can see in the stream last night with guests dancing to the pirate band and cheering as a coaster whizzes past.

-Our aim is to make guests getting on and off the rides as fluid as possible. If a ride makes someone feel nauseous then they will stumble off the ride looking ill, if they had a great time they'll cheer and clap. We want them to feel alive so you care about them and make their trip to your park as great as possible.

-The groups now break up and feel more fluid, they no longer stick to one formation, it's something that we're constantly improving on.

- Great question, guests will interact with the mascots , for alpha 2 we've added guests laughing, clapping and pointing as a mascot walks by and this is something we will continue to work on. The crowd is looking really great now and I think you'll all be really happy with the changes in alpha 2.

- We try adding humour and charm where ever we can, take a look at the last live stream for great dad dancing! The videos we created like the security guard and the gulpee eating the kid were created to give as an idea of how we wanted the humour and the animation style of the game to be. They were really helpful to get the animators on the same page and creating animations that all feel like the belong in the same world. Some of these events will make it in to the final game.

- Children are sensitive souls and I'm sure you'll see them get stroppy after a long day walking around a park.

The Spatula falls in front of him, he slips on it and is sent rocketing upwards into Space where he meets our next mascot "Cosmic Cow"

Do you have any information on the Barber Shop Quartet we were shown a few months ago? I have a great idea... you could post a pic [tongue]

Love the animations so far. I certainly agree it significantly brings the park to life.

Some questions Im looking for (Some are repeats from others)

-Boarding and Unloading of rides/coasters (No teleporting). Under the boarding piece, will riders board a ferris wheel car by car as it spins instead of teleporting to the other cars as well.

-Coaster Station animations: Will row gates be implemented and will riders be guided to each row to wait for the coaster train with those row gates opening and closing. In addition, Will a ride attendant be placed at the main turn style to guide riders to the appropriate row to wait at

-In the paths live video, stairs were shown. While the video was short, the peeps going up and down the stairs did not seem realistic or fluent. They were skipping stairs, not appearing to step up and down, nor did I notice any railing holding. Will this be improved on?

- The boarding and unloading animations are something that we're going to continue to improve ride up to release, we too want to get it as smooth as possible but we also need to consider the design impacts of our animations. For instance, if the ferris wheel stopped to let people on for every carriage, the time it takes for a guest to get on and off of the ride would be much, much longer than any other flatride. This would in turn unbalance the economy of the game and make the ferris wheel a fiscally undesirable ride.

- In the next alpha we're going to have animated ride gates and I'm going to keep looking for any opportunity to add extra life and realism to coaster stations wherever possible - can't give away any specifics yet though :D

- The paths and the crowd system are intrinsically linked and when one changes it affects the other. The additions to the path system went in very recently and we haven't yet had a chance to iron out the impact on the crowd animation. Rest assured we'll be polishing this up :)

Is the hardest thing to animate water? i see that you said it coming but with the lighting effects and they work, they will be aggecting water massively. not to mention shadows and stuff. but i believe in you guys and you can do an awesome job of it!!

cheeky second ask ----sorry

Can we have animations of split que lines?

So one main que that splits off into fast track/single rider/standard and then has a merge point at the station, would offer #deepersimulation when selling tickets and managing guests and finances
