Hardware & Technical Logitech Extreme 3D Pro? - NOT FORCE 3D PRO

The pics are a bit old & don't cover all aspects.

You should instead grab the Custom.binds
https://app.box.com/s/8eglllwqw5re31se7zp9
and save it to
C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings

or selectable preset (goes to *your E: D install dir*\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1000\ControlSchemes):

Thanks, mate. And if I change the name to something random like Mybuildhohoho.binds will that work?

If you put it then to:
*your E: D install dir*\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1000\ControlSchemes
it should be available as selectable preset in E: D options/controls
and it should work.

If you apply any changes to the scheme (in game options), it will be saved as Custom.binds in your:
C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings

Just got one of these today, delivered from a buy it now on Ebay, ordered yesterday morning, got it this morning. How cool is that?

I was having many of the problems that are mentioned in this post, but once I downloaded the custom bindings and installed it where I was told to I found the joystick a joy to use (no pun intended).

Before I used these settings the joystick was very unresponsive (set to pitch up and down), but now I've changed that with the binding settings all sorts of joy and happiness are coming my way, and I'm even starting to hit things :)

I'm looking for a joystick, I'm between this Logitech and the T-flight Stick X.
Which is the best?

With the update, you have to copy the custom bindings to *your E: D install dir*\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1002\ControlSchemes)

Just an FYI

Just got a Extreme pro 3d since you guy are working hard on a profile =)

I cant get the throttle to work though. And if I set it myself it does add throttle but does not feel "analog" so to speak.

I prefer the W & S keys for the throttle. One hand on KB and one on joystick.
I use Zieman's file and it works great. Many thanks for that to Zieman!

Looking to buy this today.

Is there a difference between the model numbers 942-000001 and 942-000005 ?

They both are described as Logitech extreme 3d pro but one says 3d pro precision. Thx.

So it's arrived and I'm even worse with this than I am with the keyboard and mouse. I've spent a few hours setting everything up and I'm comfortable and know where each of the buttons are.

The problem is still the same. I find it incredibly difficult to keep a moving target in my sights.

The slightest movement of the joystick seems to move my targets way too far.

It's obviously something I'm doing wrong, or it's something wrong with my setup, but to be quite honest atm I'm ready just to give up in utter frustration.

I've probably spent well over 100 hrs fiddling around and watching videos on you tube and I still feel I'm a country mile away from being able to fight.

I can dock and trade etc, but have only won combat scenario 3 once in probably 200+ attempts.

What I need is for the movement to be very slow initially and then speed up. I really am at a complete loss now. Buying the stick was my last throw of the dice. I've read so many threads when the game "just clicked", once they got a joystick. Not for me. And I'm bored of flying around just trading. I've got well over 3 million and I want to get geared up for a fight, but atm that is clearly pointless.

Even combat scenario 2 is difficult with the joystick.

Help me, Somebody please help me.

Having had my Extreme 3D Pro for about 8 years  and using it last for Battlefield 2 on the PC it's been sitting there since gathering dust unused after moving over to Xbox 360 gaming.

I've been setting it up for use with Elite : Dangerous and, at first, movement wasn't smooth until, thanks to Mysturji's suggestion earlier in the thread, using Axis when setting up movement instead of the standard up/down/left/right.

Now the joystick feels a lot more smoother when maneuvering.

How much time have you spent with the joystick? It takes time to build up muscle memory.. don't give up..

Believe it or not the solution was just a simple change of height that my chair was at.

I increased the height and I'm now able to move the joystick in smaller increments. I absolutely love YAWing during a fight.

Whilst I'm managing to win combat scenario 3 probably 80-90% of the time, I still wouldn't feel comfortable in regular play. I guess I'll just have to practice and practice.
